Media Reports And Public Cognition:the Stigmatization Construction About The Image Of "Dama"

In recent years,"the Dama" often appear in a wide range of negative news reports.They go out of the country with negative image accidently,they were tagged with "keen on gaining petty advantages" and "lack of public morality" or other labels,"Dama" becomes a word which is widely criticized.The stigma of a group seems to have become a common problem in our society.This paper based on the construction of "dama" image as a breakthrough point,study in the background of the Internet,under the dual effects of media coverage and public cognition,how does the phenomenon of stigmatized social groups come about.And then discuss the social psychology behind the social stigma.The first part mainly analyzes the media reports,the public awareness of the dama image.Content analysis and questionnaire survey are used in this paper,taking the Chinese News Network as a sample source,choosing the report about dama from 2013 to 2014,And combined with the social public questionnaire survey,do a more detailed description of the longitudinal and horizontal comparison on dama’s media image and public cognition of the image of dama.The second part mainly analyzes the internal mechanism of the construction of the image of dama stigma."Dama" are being stigmatized in a certain extent,the formation of dama’s stigma image is the result of media event.In the virtual space network,the stigma of dama image showing the new features of implicit stigma,loss of discourse and stigma opening.The public stereotype of cognitive motivation caused dama stigmatization and further exacerbated the stigma of dama image.The third part mainly analyzes the social and cultural connotation of the generation about the image of dama.The image of the dama was affected by social and cultural factors,Changes of social structure,the change of individual social role,the family character of oriental culture causes dama’s sychological changes and the emergence of behavior.The appellation "aunt" semantic changes and has been stigmatized."Dama" as the network popular language from the appearance to be used,reflects the unhealthy psychological state of most social groups conformity,such as herd mentality,psychological catharsis,quickspot criticism.Under the social background of value pluralism and competition for resources,dama’s behavior is not in conformity with the role expectation,so they become the "other" which is out of the role expection.
