The basic education curriculum reform based on the development of the core literacy of middle school students is in full swing.In order to improve students’ ability to understand and transfer knowledge,and to develop and cultivate students’ core literacy,this paper studies and applies the UBD-based teaching design which originated in the United States.The UBD mode is guided by core concepts,guides students to transfer knowledge through the design of basic questions,and proposes a reverse design process of determining expected results → determining appropriate evaluation evidence → designing learning experience and teaching.It can always organize teaching with a clear overall concept,avoid falling into the misunderstanding of "indoctrination teaching",and can continuously guide students to explore the meaning of geography learning,so as to achieve the purpose of knowledge transfer and cultivating core literacy.Under the circumstance that there are few papers related to the practice research of geography classroom in the domestic junior high school based on the UBD mode,this paper consults the Chinese and foreign literatures about the UBD mode,and sorts out the basic concept and design process of the UBD mode,as well as the application status at home and abroad.Combining the UBD mode with the middle school geography classroom,using the Shanghai Education Edition junior high school geography textbook as the carrier,and selecting "Climate Types of the World" as the preliminary application attempt of the UBD mode teaching design,through the teaching experiment method and student questionnaires,the UBD mode is preliminarily verified.Effectiveness and Feasibility of Geography Classrooms in Junior Secondary Schools.After continuous reflection,summarization and optimization,the "The World Countries" was selected for the re-application of the UBD mode.Through case analysis,the presentation of students’ achievements,and the continuous improvement of evaluation methods,students passed the thinking-feedback-correction-transfer application process,The understanding of big concepts has been continuously strengthened,and it has gradually penetrated and acquired a certain geographical core literacy in the subtle transformation.This research practice has proved that the UBD mode is feasible in the application of the UBD mode in the junior high school geography classroom.Through the reverse design,in the stage of determining the expected results,the teachers interpret the national curriculum standards more seriously,think about the subject concepts closely related to the core literacy,and integrate the curriculum into the curriculum.Target requirements are used as evidence for evaluation,and a student-centered learning experience is designed to help students clarify learning tasks and master core concepts,thereby continuously improving students’ ability to understand and transfer knowledge..
