Before the implementation of the "Double Reduction Policy",extra-curricular tutoring was popular as a supplement to mainstream school education, covering almost the entire education stage of students. However, the dual learning tasks of in-class and extra-curricular,on the one hand, increase the student's learning burden, increase the parents' comparison and anxiety, and on the other hand violate the normal education and learning laws. With the implementation of the "Double Reduction Policy",related problems have been effectively resolved, but some parents believe that extra-curricular tutoring will improve their children's academic performance and help them to further their studies, expressing that they do not understand the policy. Therefore, whether extra-curricular tutoring really has a positive effect on students' academic performance and further education, there is no consensus. To this end, this paper will use the micro-survey data to explore the impact of extra-curricular tutoring on grades and further education.Junior high school is the last stage of compulsory education, and it is a stage of education that all school-age teenagers must accept, and junior high school students are facing the first important turning point in their lives — the senior high school entrance examination. Therefore, studying the phenomenon of extra-curricular tutoring of students at this stage can reveal the willingness of students and their parents to choose. And by reviewing the existing research literature, there is relatively little research on the impact of extracurricular tutoring on the academic performance of students with different learning abilities and the impact of extracurricular tutoring on students' further education. Therefore, this paper selects junior high school students as the research objects, and uses the data of the China Family Tracking Survey(CFPS)in 2016 and 2018 to conduct relevant research on the effect of students participating in extracurricular tutoring during this period. This paper firstly uses the combination of ordinal logistic regression and propensity value matching method to explore the effect of extracurricular tutoring on the academic performance of junior high school students;Secondly, the students are grouped according to their learning ability to study the differences in the performance of students with different learning abilities affected by extracurricular tutoring; Finally, the combination of binary logistic regression and propensity value matching method is used to explore the impact of extracurricular tutoring on the quantity and quality of educational opportunities, that is,further education, for the same batch of students.Data analysis shows: In 2016,about 41% of the total sample participated in extracurricular tutoring, which exceeded the proportion of 36.7% of primary and secondary school students who participated in extracurricular tutoring published by the Chinese Society of Education in the same year; From the analysis of the influence of extra-curricular tutoring on the academic performance of junior high school students,it is concluded that extra-curricular tutoring will have a positive impact on the students' staged learning goals and academic performance to a certain extent, and extra-curricular tutoring has a significant positive effect on the performance of students with different learning abilities.Therefore,extra-curricular tutoring has the dual effects of "cultivating excellence" and "making up for poor".Due to the problem of selection bias in the sample, the above conclusions were further verified by the propensity value matching method, and the conclusion that extra-curricular tutoring had a greater impact on students with strong learning ability was obtained; However, the research on the impact of extra-curricular tutoring on junior high school students' further studies shows that extra-curricular tutoring does not have a significant impact on the quantitative acquisition of students' high school education opportunities, but has a significant impact on the quality of high school education opportunities. The problem of sexual bias further verifies the above conclusion.According to the conclusions of the empirical research and combined with the analysis of the full text, this paper puts forward the following countermeasures and suggestions from the perspectives of students, families, schools and the government: First,as a student, you should correct your learning attitude and maintain a good attitude;Second, parents should treat extracurricular tutoring rationally, prevent blindly following the trend, believe in exaggerated propaganda,no longer rely on fractions, understand and support the implementation of the "Double Reduction Policy",and communicate with their children in a timely manner to update their parenting concepts;Third, schools should actively respond to the implementation of the "Double Reduction Policy",fully recognize the importance of the quality of education and teaching that the school should have, and at the same time ensure the construction of good teacher ethics, the time and quality of after-school services, and provide necessary custody services;Fourth, the government should maintain the effective implementation of the "Double Reduction Policy" on a regular basis,to ensure that the supervision of off-campus training institutions is strengthened, and non-disciplinary training institutions can be appropriately encouraged to provide students with distinctive and differentiated services, which play a truly complementary role in school education. In addition,it is necessary to strengthen infrastructure construction, promote the equalization of resources and the fairness of educational development, and accelerate the reduction of the educational level gap between urban and rural areas and between regions.
