The textbook of Chinese for junior middle school edited by People's Education Press(PEP)is the most authoritative and influential,and masterpieces in classical Chinese occupy an important position in the textbook.Based on a synthesis of precedent studies in this domain and using documentation and comparative research methods,this dissertation focuses on seven versions of textbooks of Chinese for junior middle school published in 1978,1982,1987,1992,2001,2007 and 2013 by PEP.The overall masterpiece selections in classical Chinese as well as common and unique articles in these selections were under analysis in order to consider their merits identify the underlying logic and inspire the compilation of textbooks of Chinese for junior middle school.The thesis is divided into five parts,the first part is introduction.which clairifies the basis and significance of the theme,the scope and object of the study,as well as its methods and orientation,and briefs the current research status of this topic.The second part consists of a statistical analysis on masterpieces in classical Chinese selected into the seven versions of textbooks.This part talks about the absolute amount of articles of the type,their proportion in textbooks as a whole and the compilation pattern.The third part makes a statistical analysis of the common masterpieces in the seven versions of textbooks.This part mainly carries on the comparative research from four perspectives: the number of masterpieces in classical Chinese selected into all these versions of textbooks,their distrubution,,reading assitance toolkits and the homework prescribed.The fourth part statistically analyses the unique masterpieces retained in each of these seven versions of textbooks.The research ranges from their number to their features.The fifth part discusses the compilation of these masterpieces in classical Chinese,their reading assitance toolkits and the homework recommended.As for the arrangement of classical Chinese texts,it is suggested that the compilation of textbooks should not be limited to a single arrangement,but should take into account the content and style of classical Chinese texts,and flexibly choose the arrangement according to the needs.In the aspect of reading aid system,it is suggested that textbook writers should follow the principle of less and more precise,pay attention to the observation of textbook annotations before and after,and avoid duplication.At the same time,it is necessary to pay more attention to the usage of classical Chinese vocabulary and improve the validity of the notes.We should give full play to the inspiration of pre class prompts and give full play to its role as a leading organizer.As for the homework system,it is suggested that the compilation of textbooks should grasp the quantity of the three types of homework reasonably and scientifically distribute the proportion of each type of homework in the whole homework system.In particular,the proportion of creative and inspirational practical assignments should not be ignored because they seem unrelated to the exam. |
