The "Compulsory Education Geography Curriculum Standards" clearly proposes to build an open geography curriculum,broaden the learning space,advocate a variety of geography learning methods,and encourage students to learn independently,cooperate and exchange,and actively explore.The 5E teaching mode,as a distinctive inquiry teaching mode,can enhance students' understanding of inquiry knowledge,help students develop the awareness and habits of thinking and inquiry,and promote the cultivation of students' inquiry literacy.However,the study found that the 5E teaching model has little research and application in junior high school geography teaching.This article explores the feasibility of 5E teaching model in junior high school geography teaching from both theoretical and practical levels.The research in this article is of great significance for enriching the theory of geography teaching in junior high schools.Use the research literature to understand the research dynamics of the 5E teaching model and determine the research direction.Distribute questionnaires through the Internet to understand the status quo of 5E teaching mode in junior high school geography teaching,and conduct feasibility and restrictive analysis of the application of this mode in junior high school geography teaching,and propose corresponding teaching strategies.Select a class from the eighth grade of a middle school in Hubei Province to practice the 5E teaching model,and explore the effectiveness of the 5E teaching model in junior high school geography teaching through a semester of teaching practice.This article draws the following conclusions after research:(1)The 5E teaching model is feasible for junior high school geography teaching.Mainly reflected: the teaching application of the 5E teaching model conforms to the educational policy of the compulsory education stage;the links of the 5E teaching model are widely used in junior high school geography teaching and are recognized by teachers;the professionalism of the teaching team is conducive to the application of the 5E teaching model;the 5E teaching model All links are liked by students;students recognize the help of each link of the 5E teaching model for learning.(2)Through teaching practice and comparing the students before and after the questionnaires,it can be seen that the 5E teaching mode is helpful for the cultivation of students' awareness and habits of geography exploration,and can enhance students' preference for geography classes and focus on class attention;through classroom observations,It can be seen that the students' enthusiasm for classroom participation and learning attitudes have changed to a certain extent;comparing the test results of the experimental class and the control class,it is found that the5 E teaching mode can promote the students' grasp of knowledge.(3)The application of 5E teaching model in junior high school geography is restricted by factors such as teachers' insufficient understanding of 5E teaching model,teachers' inadequate awareness of innovative teaching methods,insufficient school hours,difficulty in controlling geography classrooms,and students' learning foundation.Through reflection on teaching practice,it is proposed to carefully select teaching content before class and simulate 5E teaching mode;during class,teachers should reasonably adjust the time of each link,be a good guide,and arrange independent learning tasks;after class,do a good job in teaching both teachers and students Summarize and other teaching suggestions.
