Based on the analysis of the inquiry teaching connotation, characteristics, teaching model and its dynamic development based, using literature analysis method, comparative method, questionnaire survey method and interview method, to explore cooperation, case study, inspired to explore, explore the situation, to explore the issue such as inquiry teaching mode of preparation of the typical teaching cases. Taking the junior middle school students in Jingzhou city as the object, the present situation, the implementation effect and the existing problems of the application of the inquiry based teaching in Junior Middle School of Jingzhou city were investigated, analyzed and investigated. The results of the study show that:for teachers’ eaching efficiency, improve students’learning ability and geography exam results, but there are also inquiry for some problems in the application of Junior High School Geography Inquiry teaching method. In view of the present situation and problems, this paper puts forward some improvement measures from the aspects of strengthening teacher’s inquiry learning training, strengthening teacher’s collective lesson preparation and teaching and research activity, improving the teaching facilities and so on.
