In 2018,the ministry of education officially promulgated the curriculum standard of general high school geography(2017 edition),which advocates the application of new teaching theories and models in high school geography,the scientific design of teaching process,and the guidance of students to learn by means of independent cooperative inquiry,so as to cultivate students' core quality of geography.Since then,the research on the education mode and method under the core accomplishment of geography has been carried out extensively.The traditional teaching mode is lecture-based.The course standard points out to guide students to conduct inquiry teaching.During my internship in education,I conducted relevant investigation and research on this subject,and applied cognitive development theory,proximal development area theory,constructivist learning theory and meaningful learning theory.Taking the core accomplishment of geography as the theoretical basis,this paper sorts out the domestic and foreign research status of teaching mode,5E teaching mode and its links,and 5E teaching mode through literature research,and analyzes the suitability of 5E teaching mode and geography teaching.Through the investigation to understand the current situation of 5E teaching mode in high school geography teaching,it is found that the teachers lack of understanding of 5E teaching mode.The 5E teaching model is seldom applied in geography teaching.Combined with the core quality of geography,the design principles and implementation strategies of geography teaching in high school under the 5E teaching mode are put forward.Taking the thermal circulation as an example,combined with the comparison of the students' learning status in class and the results of the two mid-term and final exams of the experimental class and the class,it is concluded that 5E teaching is of great significance for improving students' learning interest and implementing core qualities.Finally,some suggestions are put forward in view of the problems in the application,so as to provide reference for teachers.
