“Language construction and application”is one of the four core competences of the Chinese subject.It is unique to the Chinese subject and is the most important and basic for the subject.Language has always been the base and foundation of Chinese subject.Compulsory Education Chinese curriculum standard(2011 Edition)in the “ teaching suggestions” pointed out: “Chinese teaching should pay attention to the accumulation,perception and use of language.” Middle school students are in an important stage of language development.By developing the quality of "language construction and application",students are able to gain more experience on speech and strengthen their skills on language system construction and language use.Ancient poetry teaching has always been the focus of Chinese teaching.The distinctive language of ancient poetry lies in its rich symbolic images,polysemy and concise but implicit expressions.Thus teaching ancient poetry in middle school plays an important role in developing students' ability to language construction and application.On one hand,it enables a better language intuition as well as a better understanding on how to use language properly.On the other hand,it helps to train poetry appreciation and enriches emotional experience.Above all,it improves students' pragmatic ability so as to improve their writing skills.Therefore,based on developing students' language construction and using this literacy,this essay discusses the ancient poetry teaching in junior high school.The questionnaire and interview suggest that ancient poetry teaching in junior high school simply emphasize the importance of contents and emotions,while the lingual feature is less stressed than it deserves.Some teachers ignore language rules in ancient poetry and pay little attention to practical use of ancient poetry language.This is mainly caused by three reasons.First,what middle school students learn inevitably is limited by examinations.Second,students in junior high have difficulty interpreting sentences of ancient poetry accurately.Third,they do not have enough background knowledge to support themselves.Therefore,it is imperative to teach ancient poetry based on language construction and application in junior high school.Combining the integrated edition of junior high school textbooks,junior high school students' learning situation and the unique language style of ancient poetry,middle school teachers can improve students' language construction and application ability from the aspects of rhyme laws,unusual use of words and logic of special sentence patterns.Practical classroom teaching can be carried out from the following aspects.Firstly,enhance language intuition based on language construction in order to appreciate the beauty of poetry language.Secondly,interpret language rules based on language construction,so that students can understand the special sentence patterns and familiarize the rules of word use.Thirdly,strengthen language practice based on language application.This will provide opportunities for students to appreciate poetry outside the classroom and bravely write their poems.In conclusion,teaching ancient poetry in junior high school based on cultivating students' language construction and application ability is of great significance to improve teaching status and develop students' overall language literacy.
