| Since Bandura put forward the concept of "self-efficacy",the concept has attracted wide attraction in the field of education."General self-efficacy" is considered as people’s own judgment of the organization and execution ability of the action process needed to complete the set behavioral goals.Self esteem,as a kind of attitude experience closely related to both the evaluation significance and needs,is one of the important standards indicators to measure the level of individual mental health.Recent studies show that there is a significant positive correlation between the general self-efficacy and self-esteem in junior school students.Students’ general self-efficacy and self-esteem are also two important factors to promote their personality development in the critical period of youth development.As is known to all,group psychology counseling is also one of the common methods of school mental health education,because of its unique flexibility and interest which can be used as the implementation of intervention in general efficacy.Therefore,this thesis intends to study the current situation of junior high school students’ general self-efficacy and self-esteem,and improve the level of general self-efficacy through group psychology counseling,which are in turns to promote the development of self-esteem.There are several stages in the research of general self-efficacy and self-esteem of junior school students.Firstly,the basic theories of General self-efficacy,self-esteem and group psychological counseling were studied.Secondly,300 middle school students from a middle school in Urumqi participated in the research,in order to master the general self-efficacy and self-esteem level of junior middle school participants were asked to finish questionnaire survey,moreover,to introduce group psychological counseling,90 junior middle school students were selected to intervene their self-efficacy,the data collected before and after the intervention was analyzed and compared to check whether the group members ’self-esteem could be improved by improving their general self-efficacy.Finally,based on the analysis of the results,the author puts forward some feasible suggestions on how to improve the general self-efficacy of junior middle school students.The final results are as follows:First,there is no significant difference between junior high school students’ general self-efficacy and the theoretical median of the scale,and there is no significant difference in gender and grade;Second,there is no significant difference between the self-esteem level of junior high school students and the theoretical median of the scale,and the self-esteem level of boys is significantly higher than that of girls;Thirdly,there is a positive correlation between general self-efficacy and self-esteem,and the variation of self-efficacy can explain 6% of the variation of self-esteem;Fourth,the group counseling intervention study found that the general self-efficacy and self-esteem of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group.Therefore,the following conclusions are drawnFirst,the general self-efficacy and self-esteem of junior high school students are in the middle level;Second,general self-efficacy can positively predict self-esteem;Third,through the school group counseling activities,the general self-efficacy level of junior high school students can be improved,and the self-esteem level can also be improved. |
