| Since the 21 st century,the demand for high-quality comprehensive talents in various countries is more and more intense,many countries began to explore education suitable for the new situation,so STEAM education arose at the historic moment.The STEAM education concept is based on the integration of courses,through the inquiry based on the actual situation,cultivate students’ innovative ability in practical activities,and finally develop into an educational philosophy of comprehensive talents.In the context of long-term subject teaching and test-oriented education,the innovative and comprehensive abilities of our students are low,which seriously affects the development of our country’s economy and society.STEAM education concept meets the needs of talent training in China,especially for mathematics,the integration of STEAM education concept can improve the current situation of mathematics learning,enhance students’ interest in mathematics,and improve the ability of comprehensively applying knowledge to analyze and solve practical problems.This study includes three parts: Firstly,through literature reading,this article defines the relevant concepts,understands the current research status of the STEAM education philosophy,and conducts a questionnaire survey on the STEAM education philosophy for students and teachers based on the connotation of the STEAM education philosophy,the following conclusions were obtained by investigating this research:(1)the current high school mathematics teachers in our country have infiltrated the relevant connotations of the STEAM education concept into their daily teaching,but the majority of teachers do not have a systematic understanding of STEAM education concept,and some teachers do not know what STEAM is.(2)At present,high school students already have STEAM literacy,and some students have been exposed to STEAM related content.Therefore,it can be seen that the integration of STEAM education concept has a certain foundation,and the majority of teachers and students have a supportive attitude towards the integration of STEAM education concepts,and the STEAM education concept can be further integrated and developed with mathematics.But in the formal teaching,teachers should be professionally trained in STEAM education.Secondly,based on the current integration of the STEAM education concept in China,this paper determines the four basic principles of teaching process design,combines the STEM interdisciplinary project design mode designed by Professor Yu Shengquan and 5E Teaching Mode,this paper designs a STEAM teaching process suitable for function teaching in high schools in our country.Finally,on this basis,a case study is designed based on the functional relationship between the cabin height of Ferris wheel and time.According to the connotation of STEAM education concept,the case contains multi-disciplinary knowledge such as science and technology,sets diversified learning goals,meets the needs of students’ personality development,and promotes students’ comprehensive development.This paper received the following conclusions: first,STEAM education concept has a positive effect on mathematics learning.Second,the integration of STEAM education concepts can drive the development of core mathematics literacy.Thirdly,the integration of STEAM education concept needs to fully consider students’ existing cognitive level. |
