In the teaching process of novel-reading,we often encounter various problems,especially high schools in rural areas.We have fewer reading resources and inefficient classroom teaching,thus,both students and teachers are confused.In order to solve the problems and difficulties encountered by front-line teachers and implement effective teaching in a targeted manner,this thesis is mainly based on the investigation of the current situation of novel-reading teaching in a rural high school of the author in Yunnan Province,deeply understanding the existing problems,and exploring specific and feasible strategy to improve the teaching situation.The thesis takes the novel reading teaching in rural senior high schools as the focus of the research,and takes the teachers and students of the No.2 Middle School of Malong,Qujing,Yunnan Province as the objects of the research.In addition to the introduction and the conclusion,there are three main sections in this paper: 1.Investigation of the current situation of novel reading teaching in No.2 Middle School of Malong.The thesis adopts several research methods such as questionnaire,communication interviews,case analysis,etc.,focusing on teachers' teaching methods,students' extracurricular reading and autonomous reading consciousness.2.A concrete analysis of the problems in the school's novel reading teaching and the reasons for its formation.Through the investigation of the teachers and students of this school,the author found that the students mainly have the following problems in reading novels:reading time is quite short and the effect is far from satisfactory;students are lack of problem awareness and initiative;they have poor reading ability and appreciation ability;to make matters worse,they extremely lack reading resources.Teachers mainly have the following problems: they have traditional concepts and teaching methods,their classes fail to attract the students and knowledge reserves are insufficient.Besides,they hardly pay attention to students' extracurricular extensive reading and fail to give the guidance and supervision to raise students' independent reading.3.Explore the improvement strategies of the school's novel reading teaching.Based on the survey.It's a long-term goal to change the current situation of novel reading teaching in rural senior high schools,as well as to stimulate students' reading interest,and to cultivate their good reading habits,reading ability and appreciation ability.The investigation and analysis of the thesis is not comprehensive enough to represent all rural high schools,and the research results cannot be completely applicable to all similar schools.I just hope that this research can provide some meaningful explorations for the future study of novel reading teaching in rural senior high schools.
