Research On Self Management And Promotion Path Of College Counselors' Image

Counselors mainly work for college students,and always deal with the most closely related things of students.Counselors' daily behavior and teaching by words and deeds will have a great impact on the growth of college students.These words and deeds will also shape the professional image of counselors themselves.Not only that,counselors will also become college students' mentor.Personal identity system(PIs)can help improve the image of counselors.Based on PIs,Goffman impression management theory and the existing research on Counselors' image,this paper constructs the evaluation index system of counselors'professional image from counselors' self expectation,self presentation under script expectation and personal front desk:Counselors' symbol equipment,We have obtained two aspects of the image of Counselors:internal image and external image.The specific conclusions are follows:(1)When the counselor is shaping his personal image,from the perspective of his self expectation,he has clear objective idea and correct values,conforms to the expectations of social norms for the role,insists on struggle,develops continuously and serves the students;From the perspective of self presentation under the expectation of script we should do a good job in the academic guidance,class style and Party building of students,follow the tenet of students as the first center,carry out all student activities,pursue fairness and justice in the process,adhere to the purpose of establishing morality and cultivating people.From the perspective of personal front desk:the symbolic equipment of the tutor,we should standardize behavior and dress makeup,and pay attention to front desk management.(2)According to the interview analysis,there are some problems in the image management of counselors.Such as low professional identity,low social status,lack of knowledge and professional ability,and dissatisfaction with salary and development.(3)In view of the problems existing in the current situation of counselors' image,this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions from the external image and internal image of counselors.Change the Counselor's work concept,adhere to the people-oriented,and arm the mind with the concept of serving students;Strengthen the cultivation of political quality,improve personal knowledge and ability,keep pace with the times,update educational ideas and methods,and constantly"recharge";Pay attention to communication etiquette and dress,use appropriate speech and behavior according to the role change,strengthen publicity and enhance attention.Change work attitude,actively complete all things.
