Nowadays,overseas Chinese education is independent of the field of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language by its "language inheritance" and "cultural inheritance".Special teaching objectives require special Chinese textbooks.How to compile and use Chinese textbooks has attracted much attention,and the diversity and complexity of Chinese education make it difficult to have a unified compilation outline.Therefore,most textbook researchers can only select specific textbooks with specific teaching objects,and obtain as objective results as possible through the combination of quantitative and qualitative methods,in order to provide some references for the compilation of Chinese textbooks.This paper selected Han Yu(revision),China Overseas Exchanges Association entrusted Beijing Chinese Language and Culture College,which was written for overseas Chinese to learn Chinese,for full-time overseas Chinese school from grade one to grade six.Through investigating the number,level,presentation of the vocabulary;the genre,topic,the length and difficulty of the texts;using questionnaire to collect the usage of first-line teachers;it is concluded that vocabulary arranged from easy to difficult,the outline overall remains more than 70% coverage;Although there are too many new words,they are evenly distributed;The proportion of superclass vocabulary is too high,and the proportion of basic vocabulary needs to be adjusted upward.Therefore,the vocabulary is a little bit difficult.The word selection tends to be the written language,the new words list contains a large number of monosyllabic words,as well as the separation of disyllabic language units or polysyllabic fixed phrases,and there are a certain number of obscure and low-frequency idioms,colloquialisms and even ancient Chinese words.The genre of the text is relatively singleness,mainly "nonconversational","narrative" occupies the highest proportion.Topics are more widely selected than genres,with "communication" topics as the main topic,of which daily life is the most.Secondly,the topic of "culture" is mainly about Chinese culture.The principle of gradualism is adopted in the arrangement.In the early stage,communicative competence is cultivated.With the deepening of learning,the proportion of knowledge,culture and education topics is increased.The text in Han Yu(revision)belongs to a short text with less than 500 words.Based on the analysis of the index of "The longest sentence length,the average sentence length,and the difficulty of the text" in the "Languagedata.net/editor",the text in this textbook is too difficult.Based on the analysis of the compilation and usage of Han Yu,we put forward the following suggestions: Phonetics: increased Chinese Pinyin Teaching Manual and phonetic for texts;Vocabulary: reduce the number of vocabulary and make it easier,pay attention to the integrity of lexical meaning,indicate the category of the words;Text:diversified genres and topics,rewrite text and make it easier,keep pace with the times and update in time,close to life and adapt to local conditions,elaborate illustrations to make them more interesting,pay attention to the correlation between the main text and the reading text.
