Although Xiao Hong does not occupy the center of the Chinese modern literature, this does not prevent her becoming a unique perspective to be studied. Xiao Hong is the leading writer of the 20th century, a rare literary genius, who is considered as the most promising writer in contemporary China by Lu Xun. Since the 1980s, Xiao Hong has drawn increasingly more attention and as a result, "Xiao Hong Boom" in the literary world has been established. Experts and scholars in the field of Chinese education have attach great importance to Xiao Hong since the reform of the new curriculum. Different versions of Chinese textbooks includes Phoenix Education Publishing, People’s Education Publishing, Shanghai Education Publishing and Beijing Normal University Publishing in different learning period have covered more of her works. As a researcher, it is necessary for us to integrate teaching resources of Xiao Hong in the Chinese textbooks,taking its value in artistic and language education into consideration and reflecting strength and weakness in selection of Xiao Hong’s works in the textbooks and the textbook compilation at the present stage This not only means a lot to arouse more people to read Xiao Hong’s works, but also helps us to find out different interpretations of Xiao Hong’s work in different edition by comparison. It also provides us a different perspective to research works of Xiao Hong.What’s more, the depth and intensity of different versions for her work also reflects acceptability of her works by students.This thesis includes four chapters. The first chapter is introduction, which includes three parts. First of all, clarifying the reason for selected topic and research significance of this paper. The author will study the value of language education of Xiao Hong’s works according to Chinese Curriculum Standard and the Chinese textbook compilation requirements.Second, clarifying the research method of this paper. Third, summarizing the domestic research status and development trend of the research. Chapter two (Art Characteristics and the Chinese Education Value of Xiao Hong’s works) pays attention to basic research.’Unyielding female consciousness’ ’life consciousness calling for warmth’and’modest aesthetic style’constitute her unique artistic features. Based on the art value of her works, the current situation and existent problems of Chinese teaching as well as the relevant requirement of new curriculum standard,I regard’model of Chinese language expression’,’strong female consciousness’,’life consciousness calling for warm education’,’independent introspection critical spirit’ as the four education value point. The third chapter ("The study & analysis of Xiao hong’s selected works") mainly reviews three representative articles, namely "Evening Glow","The Grandfather’s Garden", "Recalls Mr. Lu Xun" and aims to analysize their advantages and disadvantages of Xiao Hong’s selected works which appears in different versions of language teaching materials.In addition, it also uses "spring hung up trees" of Phoenix Education Publishing’s Version, "Xiao Tuanyuan wife’s death" of PEP’s version as case studies to explore the depth of Xiao Hong’s works in the secondary school. Chapter four (Xiao Hong anthology reference) focuses on applied research. This chapter will integrate research achievements in chapter one, two, three and choose three articles—’hand’,’bridge’ and ’town in March’, which not appeared in the language teaching textbooks but have an important value of arts, as part of the comprehensive study—compilation of Study on Xiao Hong. In the conclusion part, the author will summarize the whole thesis, especially explaining the significance of literature and the Chinese language education of her works.
