A nation of high cultural quality begins with education, and education begins with reading.Reading as an important way of education, although can not change the length of life, but can change the width of life, can not change the starting point of life, but can change the end of life. The early monitoring of students' reading ability is of great significance to help students overcome their reading difficulties and avoid the low educational output. Therefore, the main content of this study is determined as follows: what is the current reading ability level of primary school students in Qinghai agricultural and pastoral areas? What is the level of reading ability of different sub-items in individual reading? Are there differences between different groups of students? What difficulties do students have in the process of reading? What are the factors that affect the reading ability of primary school students in agricultural and pastoral areas? How to better cultivate and improve the reading ability of primary school students in Qinghai agricultural and pastoral areas? In order to solve the above problems, the author makes use of literature analysis to sort out the research on students' reading ability.Based on the Pirls test questions of the international large-scale reading test,322 fourth-grade primary school students in the agricultural and pastoral areas of Qinghai were selected for the test. The researchers corrected the answer papers according to the prescribed score values and conducted statistical analysis on the scores,so as to directly show the reading ability of primary school students in the agricultural and pastoral areas. The influencing factors of reading ability of primary school students in agricultural and pastoral areas were studied by using PISA questionnaire.Through interviews with 18 teachers of the school, the students' reading ability and reading status were understood from the teacher level, and the difficulties existed in the cultivation of students' reading ability were deeply understood.By observation method, the present situation of reading teaching of teachers in farming and pastoral areas and the reading resources provided by schools for students were studied. The results show that there are differences in the reading ability of the primary school students in the agricultural and pastoral areas of Qinghai. The students have strong ability to extract and information, but low ability to explain and evaluate the reading content. There are significant differences among different groups: There are significant differences among different groups: the reading ability of ethnic pupils is lower; The reading ability of female students is stronger than that of male students.Primary school students in the day school system have better reading ability. The reading ability of ordinary class students is significantly stronger than that of ethnic class students. In the process of reading, students have problems such as deviations in reading purpose, dyslexia in some students, poor reading autonomy, serious "fake reading" phenomenon and so on.The influencing factors of reading ability of primary school students in agricultural and pastoral areas were analyzed. From the perspective of individual students, the use of mother tongue makes it more difficult for students to read.Students themselves to carry out interesting reading time is less.In terms of teacher teaching, compared with students in other areas, primary school students in agricultural and pastoral areas are more suitable for traditional teaching methods including oriented teaching strategies and adaptive teaching strategies, but they are easy to fall into the dilemma of textbookism.Teachers are faced with the dilemma of language choice in reading teaching;Teachers themselves fail to play a good role of example demonstration;Lack of method and patience in instructing students to read. From the perspective of the school, the frequently closed school library, the rigorously managed class book corner and the neatly fixed dormitory book corner lead to students' inability to obtain reading resources quickly.Students' reading time is squeezed and their reading volume cannot be guaranteed.Dispensable reading activities gradually reduce students' interest in reading.Formal reading evaluation can't monitor students' reading ability. From the perspective of family reading education, boarding students' family reading guidance is in the absence state;Students lack the support of family reading resources, and parents are unwilling to provide books and will not buy books.Combined with the survey results, this study believes that the cultivation and promotion of the reading ability of primary school students in Qinghai agricultural and pastoral areas need to start from the following three levels: First,to create a reading atmosphere and improve the training path.Focus on the whole process of reading, form a training route from improving reading awareness, stimulating reading interest, ensuring students' reading time and consolidating reading results.Second, give full play to the family and school co-education force.Teachers should enhance their own quality, play a role model;Teaching the basics and introducing reading methods;Guide parents to participate in students' reading and strengthen reading training.Third, provide books in many ways, taking into account both quantity and quality;Cultivate the responsibility consciousness of relevant subjects in school and make full use of books.
