| In the process of mathematics learning,“understanding” is both basic and essential.Most of the traditional mathematical teaching models are conducive to instrumental understanding,and neglect relationship understanding.while the real mathematical understanding is a thinking process that to process and re-interpret new knowledge on the basis of existing mathematical knowledge and experience,so as to gradually understand its essence and relationship.Therefore,students should learn to change from acceptance learning to comprehensive learning,be able to describe the reasons of mathematical objects and characteristics,and explain the differences and connections between this object and related objects.The degree of understanding is determined by the number and intensity of correlation between old and new knowledge points,and the SOLO taxonomy,which has the characteristics of combining quantification and quality,is one of the best evaluation tools for mathematical understanding level.Applying the SOLO taxonomy to teaching evaluation is not a simple right or wrong judgment of students’ learning achievements,but a qualitative or quantitative analysis of students’ thinking processes.Based on the SOLO taxonomy,we explores the development process of students’ mathematical understanding level by taking the teaching of junior high school equations as examples.We asked three questions:(1)What is the level of understanding of junior high school students?(2)Where are the barriers to understanding of junior high school students?(3)How to improve the understanding level of the equations of junior high school students in teaching?For the question(1),we measures the student’s mathematical understanding level by questionnaire method,regards the SOLO taxonomy as the evaluation criterion,and obtains the conclusion 1: The mathematics understanding level of junior high school students is generally low,which is shown as "Pay attention to calculation,ignore understanding";For the question(2),we does qualitative and quantitative analysis of the results of the survey,supplemented by interviews with individual students,analysis of students understand obstacles and reasons,and draw conclusions 2: student equations of understanding disorders manifested in both cognitive and expression aspects,the main reason is to be flooded by large-scale exercise training,lack of "learning and thinking" habits;For the question(3),we puts forward the teaching strategy to promote the equations understanding,and verifies the teaching effect with the corresponding teaching practice,and draws the conclusion 3: the teaching strategy to promote the equations understanding has explanatory strategy,structural strategy,situational learning strategy,multilingual characteristic strategy and process strategy;and Conclusion 4: The understanding teaching model based on the SOLO taxonomy can effectively improve students’ mathematical understanding.The enlightenments are:(1)Teachers should teach on the basis of understanding,and know what it is and why;(2)The SOLO taxonomy is an effective tool for observing and evaluating learning achievements;(3)Different teaching methods for students with different levels of understanding. |
