The Chinese Curriculum Standards for General Senior High School(2017)clearly regards "whole book reading and discussion" as one of the Chinese learning task groups.and provides detailed learning objectives and teaching tips for "whole book reading and discussion".The teaching content of "whole book reading and discussion" occupies an important position in the whole Chinese teaching stage of senior high school,which puts forward new requirements for teachers’ teaching and students’ learning.The teaching of"whole book reading and discussion" should not only focus on cultivating students’interest in reading,but also reflect on the development of students’ reading methods,aesthetic experience,knowledge transfer and other multiple goals.In the study of "whole book reading and discussion",students no longer only learn knowledge from the teacher’s lectures in the short and limited class,but need to use more spare time to master knowledge from richer teaching content.The change of teaching content is bound to bring some new problems to teaching.Therefore,the author sent questionnaires to some students in the No.1 Middle School of Minle County,Gansu Province,and conducted interviews with some Chinese teachers.Through the method of "questionnaire survey" and "interview",this paper analyzes the problems and causes faced by Chinese teachers in the teaching implementation process of "whole book reading and discussion".From the aspect of teachers,the main problems of current teaching include two problems:"teachers pay too much attention to the application of students’ reading methods and skills,ignore the aesthetic experience of students in reading,and lack of connection between teaching and Chinese practice of" whole book reading and discussion"From the aspect of students,there are three problems:"students are under great academic pressure and have no time to read;reading is absent in family education for a long time;and there is great difference in reading level between students".The reasons for the above problems partly come from the predicament of our county-level middle schools and partly from the influence of long-term exam-oriented education.After analyzing the problems and their causes,this paper puts forward some practical teaching suggestions for "reading and discussion of the whole book".Firstly,teachers should establish a multi-level teaching content analysis method;secondly,they should carry out teaching in a practice-oriented way;thirthly,teachers should pay attention to students’ long-term learning and autonomous learning.At the end of this paper,the author uses the above teaching strategies to make a specific case analysis of "Rural China" and "A Dream of Red Mansions" in the teaching content of"Whole Book Reading and Discussion",hoping to be of reference significance to the majority of first-line Chinese teachers.
