In the information age,obviously,the information ability has been the necessary ability for modern citizens.During the learning of geography,due to the huge amount of geographic information,various forms of geographical information and the requirements of geographic information ability in the curriculum standards,more attention is paid to the students’ ability of geographic information,especially the geographic information processing ability.Junior high school geography course is the starting point for students to formally learn geography,pay attention to the cultivation of students’ geographical information processing ability in this stage,it is of great significance to lay a good geographical foundation and develop geographical ability for them.The paper adopts the methods of literature,questionnaire survey,interview,and analysis,analyzing the reflection of the geographic information processing ability in the junior high school geography academic proficiency test questions of Qingdao in past 3 years and explaining the importance of geographic information processing capabilities,combined the analysis results of student questionnaires and teacher interviews,developed the relevant training strategies.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:1.The student survey questionnaire is formulated according to the evaluation criteria of the geographic information processing ability in the curriculum standards.The results of questionnaire surveys and interviews show that: The students have a certain degree of development in this ability,but there are problems such as insufficient development and low level;teachers have some knowledge of this ability and consciously cultivate this ability in teaching,but their low level of information literacy and with the influence of traditional teaching models,problems such as inadequate methods,insufficient attention and insufficient training in the training process.2.Through the reflection and analysis of the geographic information processing ability in the academic proficiency test,it is found that shows the following characteristics: the questions focus on the overall development level of geographic information processing ability;higher overall level;diversified geographic information carriers,connecting with life and setting up situation.3.Based on the above analysis,this article combines the principle of student-oriented,step-by-step and combination of intellectual and non-intellectual factors,proposes training strategies to promote the overall improvement of students’ geographic information processing ability: improving geography teachers’ information literacy,constructing a geographic knowledge framework,advocating an open geography teaching model,cultivating students’ ability to use geographic diagrams.Combined with relevant case analysis to reflects the feasibility of the strategy,wishing for provide useful references to junior high school geography teaching.
