Chemistry is a natural science based on the experiment, which has many characteristics such as micro, abstract and knowledge. In the face of such the complex information, In order to promote their understanding of knowledge, students must have the ability to visualize, signifying, modelling the information. The information processing ability of diagram as the important tool and method to learn knowledge and deal with problems is more and more brought to the attention of the educators and the researchers.The following work has been done in this paper:1. To investigate the basic situation of students’information processing ability of chemical diagram in the practical teaching by questionnaire and interview. The statistical results showed the students often feel confused and puzzled when solving chemical graph question. Students cannot extract the information in the image and the topic of large amount of reading and situational strange. So students feel afraid when they are face with those questions. In this paper, we will help the teachers solve the problem.2. The next part adopts literature method to reorganizes the existing related material at home and abroad, discusses the information processing ability of diagram construction and its assessment framework.3. Based on related study, students’diagram information processing process has been divided into five parts:input, encoding, processing, extraction and use. And the author established the core elements of reasoning ability of diagram:recognition ability of information, transforming ability of information, integration ability of information, monitoring ability of information and constructive ability. Then preliminary built the information processing ability of chemical diagram assessment framework.4. Based on this framework to develop the test tools and implemented the test, data analysis and processing. And use the statistical software SPSS 19.0 to check the quality of the tool.5. Using statistical software Spss19.0 to process test data and through the testee’s reaction on the test item, we can indirectly infer their implicit information processing ability of chemical diagram characteristics. |
