With the continuous development of China's education and teaching curriculum reform,gradually cultivating students with good geographical core literacy has become the purpose of geography teaching.With the rapid development of social economy,the impact of human on the geographical environment is becoming more and more intense,and the relationship between human and land is becoming more and more tense.The population problem is still a basic and strategic major problem that human society needs to face together.It is an important mission for geography education to carry out the teaching of population geography,guide students to pay attention to the problems of population geography and the national conditions of China's population,strengthen students' basic concept of coordinated development of population,resources,environment and society,and cultivate students' core quality of geography.Based on the reform of geography curriculum,this paper analyzes and summarizes the research results of scholars at home and abroad with the theoretical support of humanism,constructivism,human land relationship coordination theory and sustainable development theory.Through the questionnaire survey on the current situation of population geography teaching in senior high school,we understand the existing problems in teaching.This paper sorts out the contents of population geography in the newly implemented compulsory "geography 2" textbooks of people's education press,Hunan Education Press,Shandong Education Press and China Library Press,clarifies the knowledge content and the core quality of geography,and designs the teaching objectives.Finally,the study puts forward the teaching principles and Strategies of population geography.The conclusions are as follows:First,through the questionnaire survey on the teaching and learning status of high school population geography.According to the survey results,high school students generally attach importance to the study of population geography related knowledge;High school geography teachers and students do not pay equal attention to the cultivation of geography core literacy,and students do not have a clear understanding of geography core literacy;Most of the teachers and students can realize the importance of the education of population and national conditions in the teaching of population geography,but at the same time,the education of population and national conditions only stays in the shallow knowledge content learning.Secondly,based on the analysis and interpretation of the current situation of high school population geography teaching,combined with the analysis of the content of population geography in high school geography textbooks and the clarification of the corresponding teaching objectives,this paper puts forward the teaching principles and teaching strategies of high school population geography.In the teaching of population geography,we should emphasize the principles of intuition,inspiration,integration of theory with practice and unity of science and ideology.In order to implement the cultivation of students' geographical core literacy and the education of population and national conditions,the following teaching strategies of population geography are put forward: improving the classroom teaching process,using a variety of teaching methods;Expand the second classroom,carry out special education activities;In depth study of population geography knowledge,focusing on the cultivation of geographical core literacy;Based on the teaching of population geography knowledge,infiltrate the education of population national conditions.Thirdly,in order to apply the teaching strategy to the practice of geography teaching,this paper designs the teaching of the compulsory "geography 2" population of PEP,hoping to provide reference for the front-line teachers in the teaching of population geography.The purpose of this study is to put forward effective teaching principles and Strategies of population geography by investigating and analyzing the current situation of population geography teaching and combing the teaching content of high school population geography.In the teaching of population geography,we should carry out the cultivation of geographical core literacy and the education of population and national conditions,improve the attention of teachers and students to population knowledge,pay attention to population problems,strengthen the concept of human land coordination,and cultivate students' feelings of home and country and sense of social responsibility.
