Fiction is one of the four major literary genres.Its stories are fictitious and creatively processed on the basis of real social life.And it contains undulating plots,rich characters and vivid descriptions of the environment,so it has always been loved by people.It plays a very important role in shaping students' personality and establishing correct values in life,and its literary nature also plays a pivotal role in improving students' literary appreciation and writing skills.However,there are many areas for improvement in the teaching of novel reading,and these status quo urgently need our attention.Therefore,this article investigates the current problems of novel reading teaching,finds out the reasons,and proposes relevant improvement strategies,hoping to provide reference basis for the novel reading teaching of frontline teachers and improve the quality of novel reading teaching.This article uses questionnaire survey method,interview method,and classroom observation method to investigate teachers and students,and find out the problems and reasons in the novel reading teaching classroom.Among them,the teacher's questionnaire survey is mainly conducted from three dimensions: the attitude of the novel texts,the knowledge of styles,and the teaching practice.Students conduct investigations from four aspects: their interest in reading novels in class,reading and writing,preparation for studying novels,and knowledge of stylistics.The dimensions of classroom observation are: teacher's teaching content;teacher's teaching goal;teacher's teaching method;students' learning situation in four aspects.The dimensions of teacher interviews are: teacher's theoretical accumulation;stylistic knowledge;teacher's teaching preparation;four aspects of teaching practice activities.Students conduct interviews around stylistic knowledge and suggestions for the novel class.Through investigation,it is found that teachers have a model of novel reading teaching;novel reading teaching is mixed with narrative teaching;novel teaching methods lack innovation;the degree of cohesion of texts inside and outside class is not high;the teaching content is rigid and the uniqueness of the text is ignored.The main problems of students are insufficient preparation for learning;lack of interest in reading excerpted novels in class and weak stylistic knowledge of novels;lack of awareness of writing transfer and application.In response to the above problems,the attribution analysis was carried out,and combined with the reasons,it was proposed to enhance teachers' literary literacy and theoretical knowledge learning,and improve the literacy of teachers' novels;various ways of pre-reading novel texts to construct high-quality classrooms;construct student-oriented classroom,To stimulate students' interest in learning novels in class;according to the style of novels,four strategies for selecting appropriate teaching content.It is hoped that it will help first-line teachers in the novel reading teaching,thereby improving the quality of novel reading teaching and bringing students a better reading experience of novel texts.Finally,it summarizes the research on the current situation and strategies of novel reading teaching,and reflects on the shortcomings.
