Research On Economic Thought In Ma Yinchu's "New Population Theory"

Ma Yinchu(1882--1982)was an economist,educator and demographer.According to the social and economic development in the early years of the founding of the People's Republic of China,he pointed out that the population problem existed in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China.In the study of social and economic development,Ma Yinchu discussed population factors as a key factor affecting economic development.He advocated "controlling population quantity and improving population quality",and took this as the core of his theory to discuss and put forward the economic thought of "new population theory".His economic thought on new population has a profound influence on the formation of China's population policy and the development of population economy theory,which occupies an important position in the history of China's population economy thought.Economic thoughts of Ma Yinchu,therefore,the new population to carry on the theoretical system of study and grasp,can fully demonstrate its economic thought,perfect process from germination to understand the thoughts and contact the era background of the economic characters,more able to clarify its theoretical value,for China's current population structure imbalance problems provide some sense of the theory of reference.This paper mainly discusses Ma Yinchu's economic thoughts on new population from five parts.The first part mainly clarifies the research significance,sorts out the existing theoretical research on Ma Yinchu's economic thoughts on new population,and introduces the main research methods used in the research on characters' economic thoughts.The second part discusses the main background that influences or promotes the formation of his economic thought.The third part is based on the main formation background already discussed in the second part.By reading and sorting out relevant literature,it summarizes the process from initiation to perfection of Ma Yinchu's economic thoughts on new population,and introduces the main contents of Ma Yinchu's economic thoughts on new population.The fourth part summarizes the main debates on new population at the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China,and on the basis of relevant historical research,discusses the influence of Ma Yinchu's theory on new population after it was questioned and even criticized from two aspects of theory and practice.The fifth part further clarifies the theoretical value of Ma Yinchu's economic thought on new population based on the existing research and emphasizes its reference significance in population policy making and economic theory development.
