A Case Study On The Social Communication Difficulties Of The Immigrant Elders

In recent years,more and more young people choose to live in the city because of work and other reasons.In order to be filial to their parents or take care of their children,some young people will choose to receive their parents to live by themselves.We call these old people who move into the city with their children as "immigrant elders".According to the data released by the National Health Commission in 2016,there are nearly 18 million immigrant elders in China,accounting for 7.2% of the country's floating population,and the society begins to pay attention to the immigrant elders.After leaving the familiar hometown,immigrant elders need to adapt to a new life,including emotional adaptation,climate adaptation,lifestyle adaptation,social interaction adaptation,especially social interaction adaptation.For immigrant elders,the most important thing is to adapt to the life of the immigrate.Social interaction is also regarded as an important indicator to measure the life adaptability of immigrate elders.It can be said that the social interaction situation reflects the quality of life of immigrate elders in the immigrate to a certain extent.A good social relationship can provide emotional support for immigrant elders and help them better adapt to the changing life.Therefore,it is particularly important to help immigrant elders establish new social relationships.There are many large and small factories in S community of Huizhou,attracting a large number of entrepreneurs and migrant workers from other places,and immigrant elders are also increasing.During my internship in S community social work comprehensive service center of Huizhou City,I found that these immigrant elders generally have a narrow social circle and few objects of daily communication,so I began to pay attention to the social communication status of immigrant elders.The author first interviewed 10 immigrant elders in S community,and then chose the representative immigrant elders C as the research object.Through the interview method,the author understands the problems of the case owner C in socialcommunication,analyzes these problems and makes a specific service plan according to the case owner's situation,then immigrant elderst has developed case services to help the case owner C establish confidence in participating in social interaction activities,Improve the social communication ability of the case owner,gradually establish community interpersonal relationship,make the elderly get rid of the feeling of loneliness,enrich the community life of immigrant elders,meet the social communication needs of the elderly,and make the life of immigrant elders better in their later years.Finally,social workers evaluate and reflect on the whole service process,and put forward some suggestions to help immigrant elders get out of the dilemma of social interaction.In this study,the author uses case work method to help immigrant elders out of the social interaction dilemma.Through this study,the feasibility of case work method to solve the social interaction dilemma of immigrant elders is confirmed.This is a professional exploration of case work method in the field of immigrant elders,and how to deal with immigrant in the context of population mobility It can be used for reference for elders to provide targeted services.
