The family is the first place for children aged 0-3 to grow up and receive education. With the increasing pressure of urban life, the parents cannot fully assume the responsibility of raising children aged 0-3 years old,so many children are cared for and educated jointly by the grandparents and parents, whose development is influenced by the two generations. However, parents and grandparents inevitably have differences in the process of child-rearing,which is due to the difference in parenting quality between the two generations. Therefore,it is particularly important to explore the current situation and differences of parenting literacy between parents and grandparents, and to further compare and study the needs of parents and grandparents in the child-rearing process. This study selected 350 families of 0-3 year-old infants and young children jointly raised by Guangzhou's grandparents and parents through purpose sampling.Through questionnaires and interviews, they surveyed the parenting of grandparents and parents from three dimensions:parenting concept quality, parenting knowledge quality and parenting ability quality. The current status of quality is to investigate the status of childcare demands from the two dimensions of community demands and knowledge demands. The study found differences in parenting quality and parenting demands between grandparents and fathers. On the whole, parents' parenting quality is higher than that of grandparents, and the two generations have different emphasis on parenting demands. The specific situation is as follows:(1)in terms of quality concept quality, the parents' conception of child rearing is more scientific than the grandparents',while the grandparents' conception is more traditional and conservative.(2)in terms of parenting knowledge quality, the knowledge literacy level of the father is higher than that of the grandfather, and the father is more inclined to learn than the grandfather. The parental knowledge of the grandparents is empirical and fragmented.(3)in terms of parenting ability quality, parents' parenting ability is significantly higher than that of grandparents, especially in terms of reflection ability.(4)in terms of child-rearing demands, the parents'generation has a strong demands for the community. In terms of knowledge demands, the parents' generation focuses on the knowledge of parent-child communication, while the grandparents' generation focuses on the knowledge of intellectual development.(5)the higher the education level of grandparents, the higher the level of parenting literacy; The child-rearing knowledge demand of younger grandparents is significantly higher than that of older grandparents.(6)parents' parenting literacy improves with age;The higher the education level of parents, the higher the level of parenting literacy;Parents whose monthly income ranged from 10,000 yuan to 29,999 yuan had the highest parenting literacyBased on the above research, the author believes that the family and the government are the two pillars to improve the level of parenting quality and meet the demands of the two generations. In terms of family, grandparents should form the consciousness of reflection and lifelong education, and actively participate in child-rearing training;Parents should choose learning resources scientifically and rationally and insist on systematic learning, and improve their collective efforts to improve their parenting ability; At the same time, grandparents and parents should understand and communicate with each other. In terms of the government, the first step is to build and improve the parental education system, the second step is to give play to the geographical advantages of the community to provide diversified infant and child services, and the last step is to set up grandparents' classes.
