The purpose of this study is to understand the parenting philosophy and practice of the adults who are the parents of minority children aged 0-3 years in Xinjiang and Tibet. It hopes to understand the similarities between the minority border areas, it also hopes to understand the differences. It hopes to understand the essence inherited from national tradition, it also hopes to understand the needs to be improved. On the basis of this investigation, we want to dig out the reference and inheritance act according to the similarity of all nationalities, and propose measures to enhance the concept and practice level of parenting. We will also give different advice according to the difference of all nationalities.This research mainly adopts questionnaire method, interview method and observation method. First of all, we get the background information, concept and knowledge, practices and behaviors of the parents through the questionnaire method. We get the information, training mode and the early child care that parents want to get through the interview methods. We know about the concern for the children and the quality of parent-child interaction through the observation method, which include eyes, attitude, initiating and responding in free play.The results of the study show that:I.In parenting idea, parents have some scientific concept about early childhood, but they still lack the scientific knowledge of parenting, and they pay much more attention to the knowledge of rearing than educating. Besides, there are large differences in the areas of natural childbirth support and psychological education knowledge between the nationalities.2.In child rearing practice, parents have some positive approaches, but we also find some problems, for example, food supplement is not balanced along with some improper practices, parents pay much more attention to the children’s nutrition than health care, safety precautions are not enough, father’s participation rate is low, the quality of parent-child interaction is low, and parents also have bad habits, the level of emotional acceptance and understanding need to be improved, the input for toys and books are not balanced and they are of low utilization rate. Besides, there are large differences in many areas between the nationalities, such as the initiative to use the national resource, health and safety habits, hygienic habits, emotional acceptance and communication, quality of interaction between children and parents.Based on those research results above, and the research on the local social economic environment and the cultural environment, the researchers put forward suggestions from three aspects of direct environment system, indirect environment system and macro environment system.1. Direct environment system:We should define the specific content of support. For example, first of all, we should certain, optimize and popularize the scientific parenting ideas and practices, we should enrich the parenting knowledge, we should improve the father participation, we should help the parents to accept the problem behaviors in education, we should enhance the quality of parent-child interaction, we should solve some outstanding problems in different places.2. Indirect environment system:Work by the community to support parents, including organizing trainings, having parent-child activities, providing materials, establishing core family working mechanism, establishing supervision and service mechanism by department of health.3. Macro environment system:Combine the unique local resources with the main points of early parenting, and make full use of them in the process.
