Abstract/Summary:
Chinese textbooks are one of the major resources for students to learn the Chinese language in class.As a part of the reading aid system,the "preview" guidance instructions carefully designed by editors also play an important role.Both in a broad or a narrow sense,the "preview" instructions are of great value to front-line teachers and students.The publication and use of the Chinese teaching materials compiled by Ministry of Education enable teachers and students to realize the scientific nature and practicability of the teaching materials.In this article,the author starts with the "preview" instruction in teaching reading,With the help of literature research,case interviews and other methods,it analyzes the current situation of the use of preview instruction,which strengthens the author’s confidence in this topic.The paper also analyzes the phenomenon that teachers do not fully use the "preview" instruction to serve the classroom and ignore the prompts of reading methods,etc..Combined with the use examples of the "preview" instruction,this paper puts forward the methods for teachers to effectively use the "preview" instruction.This article consists of introduction,main contents and conclusion.The introduction part mainly expounds on the research background and research methods.Afterorganizing the research materials in the early stage,the author discussed the background from theoretical research and research status.Based on this,methods such as literature research,interview investigation and analysis research to select the topic according to the research ideas.The first chapter is a summary of "preview" instructions of the seventh grade.Based on the compilation basis of "preview" instructions in The seventh grade’s textbooks,this chapter took "preview" instructions as part of the textbook reading-aid system.They are closely related to the introduction of the unit and "thinking and exploring" and "accumulating and expanding" part of the text.The functions of "preview" instructions in the development of Chinese curriculum in the seventh grade of the unified edition was further expounded.For instance,promoting teachers and students’ attention to Chinese knowledge,advocating teachers to change their leading roles,making full use of the unified textbooks and improving the implementation of Chinese teaching.The second chapter continued the research summary of the first one.It includes the current situation of "preview" instructions of Chinese textbooks for the seventh grade gathered by questionnaires and interviews,which provide data support for the elaboration of "application research".This chapter introduced the purpose and content of the survey and explained the results.It made a simple evaluation of the questionnaires and interviews,which laid the groundwork for the next chapter.The third chapter analyzed the causes behind the current situation of teachers’ use of "preview" instructions.After understanding the current situation by different research methods and organizing the data and conversations,the author analyzed the causes from three aspects through taking teachers as the object of elaboration.The author also pointed out that teachers’ lack of understanding of "preview" instructions led to the irrationality in its use.Part of the students had the awareness of making full use of them.Nevertheless,they failed to guide students to use them skillfully,resulting in the ineffectiveness.The fourth chapter expounds the current situation and causes of the second and third chapters.First,teachers should carefully study the teaching materials and deepen their understanding of the functions of "preview" instructions.By doing this,they can apply them consciously and skillfully in their teaching.Also,as practitioners,teachers will be able to guide students to effectively complete their learning tasks.It will also encourage students to form the habit of previewing and acquire relevant skills.Teachers’ multiple roles and teaching practice will encourage them to be a researcher in the use of "preview" instructions.By deepening research on effective use,dealing with how to use,paying attention to the result,teachers can make full advantage of them and better serve Chinese teaching.In conclusion,the author summarized the whole text and sincerely hoped that teachers can effectively use the "preview" instruction in the unified textbooks.As a practitioner in Chinese teaching,the author encouraged all teachers to intensively study the textbooks and deepen their understanding with practice.By exploring the functions of instructions,more experience can be accumulated and effective strategies can be formed.
