The new mission and responsibility of International Chinese Education are to present compelling China stories and make China's voice better heard.However,for International Chinese Education,the following problems need to be solved: How do define the "Chinese story",what type of stories are worth presenting,and does the source of the story need to be clarified?International Chinese textbook,which is an important basis of International Chinese Education,is the direct and major source for international students to know,understand and form the cognition of China.It is undoubtedly an important resource for the "Chinese story" of international Chinese education.How is the presentation of the "Chinese stories" element in the widely used excellent international Chinese textbooks ? To figure it out,this study takes "Developing Chinese" which is from comprehensive series of teaching materials as an example to conduct a closed investigation on the elements of "Chinese story".Moreover,it tries to explore the characteristics and rules of the elements of "Chinese story" in textbooks from a new perspective of integrating international Chinese education into "telling Chinese stories well".Besides,this study also put forward suggestions on the arrangement of "the element of China story" by elaborating the characteristics and rules of the element arrangement,which hopes to provide the reference value for the study of International Chinese teaching and the textbook editing.The main research is divided into three chapters.The first chapter studies the concept and scope of "Chinese story" in international Chinese education,as well as the goal and significance of telling Chinese stories well.The second chapter investigates the elements of "Chinese story" in the comprehensive series of textbooks "Developing Chinese".The third chapter discusses and analyzes the survey data,and forms the survey conclusions and editing suggestions for international Chinese textbooks from the perspective of "telling Chinese stories well".The investigation of the elements of "Chinese story" in the comprehensive series of "Developing Chinese" textbooks shows that the number of elements of "Chinese story" progressively increased.Category analysis,in the elementary comprehensive course,mainly focuses on "social life",which reflects the close relationship with people's life.The presentation form of "Chinese story" elements,the participation of the story and the cultivation of cross-cultural ability to understand the connotation of the story have become the focus of thinking.In the intermediate stage,the content of "contemporary China" has been added.These contents are based on the present and experience the present,and the humanity and story have been strengthened.The timeliness of the story,the era background of the story,the development of Chinese characteristics and other issues are worthy of in-depth exploration.In the advanced stage,the content of "traditional culture" is added,which is to understand the past and the present and understand China.The conclusions of the survey can prompt the following suggestions for textbook compilation: in the elementary stage,attention should be paid to the concise and participatory "Chinese story" and the reflection of cross-cultural awareness;in the intermediate stage,we should give priority to the humanity and sense of the times of contemporary Chinese stories,and pay attention to the integration of the spirit of the times and the development path with Chinese characteristics;in the advanced stage,the content need to reflect the comprehensiveness and cultural inheritance of Chinese stories in the whole training system.Based on the training goal of "knowing what it is",it explores the source of Chinese culture from Chinese traditional culture and allows students understand China from Chinese stories.
