With the development of China’s economic, society and culture. More and more foreign students would like to get to know more about China by learning Chinese. In this way, the field of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages comes into a period of great developing. Besides, the research of textbooks develops. However, the number of textbooks which satisfies both the teachers and the students is not so optimistic. On the other hand, organizing the textbooks of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages in a storytelling way is showing itself as a new method.This paper will explore the editorial thought in the textbooks of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages. And the author will take the language textbook Essential English and the textbooks of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages Great Wall Chinese as the examples. Discuss from the perspective of scene, character and plot to analysis this topic. Here will use two methods——They are the way of documental and material methods and classroom observation.
