International Chinese textbooks are not only the main tool for Chinese learners to learn the target language,but also the direct carrier for them to understand Chinese culture.As an important part of Chinese culture,the significance of urban culture can not be ignored.The creation of excellent urban culture in textbooks can not only highlight the charm of the city,but also help to create a real and three-dimensional image of the city in the minds of learners;it can also help learners to have a strong sense of freshness and identity,enhance their own stickiness with the city,so as to promote the spread and exchange of urban culture.Based on the uniqueness and importance of the mode of communication of international Chinese textbooks,this paper selects the new practical Chinese textbook and Chinese listening,speaking,reading and writing as the research objects,carries out a case study on the relevant contents of urban culture in the two Chinese textbooks,and through this case study,promotes and enriches the compilation of the relevant contents of urban culture in international Chinese textbooks.The full text is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction.This paper expounds the purpose of topic selection,research significance and research methods,combs the research results of urban culture and the research results of urban culture in international Chinese textbooks through literature reading method,understands the connotation,classification and characteristics of urban culture,summarizes the shortcomings of previous studies,and clarifies the theoretical basis,research content and innovation of this study.The second part studies the urban culture in the new practical Chinese textbook and Chinese listening,speaking,reading and writing.By using the method of data statistics and discourse analysis theory,this paper analyzes the quantity,content and category of urban culture in the two textbooks.Through the analysis,it is found that although the two textbooks can select a more reasonable urban culture and create a more real and objective image of the city,it also reflects that the compilation of urban culture in the two textbooks has the characteristics of homogeneity,incomplete presentation,uneven proportion and diversity These shortcomings lead to the limitations,ambiguities and deviations of Chinese learners' cognition of Chinese urban culture.In the third part,64 international students with intermediate and advanced Chinese proficiency were investigated by questionnaire.Through the statistical analysis of the questionnaire survey,it is found that: international students have a higher degree of cognition of the urban culture which appears more frequently in the teaching materials;they have a lower degree of cognition of the urban culture which appears less and never appears in the teaching materials,and their cognition of the urban cultural symbols is consistent with the tendency of shaping the urban culture in the teaching materials,and they tend to the material culture level,especially the urban culture Historical and cultural heritage.The fourth part is to think about the compilation of urban culture in the textbook according to the investigation results of urban culture in the textbook and the cognition of international students about urban culture.From the perspective of the uniqueness,times,richness and interest of urban culture,this paper attempts to provide feasible suggestions for the compilation of teaching materials.The fifth part is the conclusion.The research results of this paper are summarized.
