| In 2017,a new English curriculum standard for Senior High Schools was promulgated and implemented,which reshapes and optimizes the English curriculum goals for senior high schools in the new era from the perspective of system and framework,in particular,it further clearly emphasizes the importance and rich connotation of the subject core literacy,and clarifies the values,essential qualities and key abilities that should be achieved after the English subject curriculum in senior middle schools,at the same time,the new curriculum standard for the first time emphasizes the importance and the key of the cultivation of thinking quality.English reading teaching in Senior High School is a key method to cultivate students’ thinking quality and a concrete measure to implement the principle of "student-centered".This study integrates the intrinsic characteristics of English as a discipline,such as instrumentality,communication and culture,through literature review,interview and case study,etc.,based on the cultivation of thinking quality,this paper makes a study of English reading teaching in senior high schools,which provides a new way of thinking and a new way of reading teaching under the new curriculum standard.It mainly includes four aspects.One is to learn the related basic theory of thinking quality.The connotation of core literacy summarizes that language ability is the basis and support,and thinking quality is the characteristic and motive force.In the part of the connotation of thinking quality,the characteristics of thinking are condensed into broadness and profundity,logical criticism,agility and independent innovation.The chapter also reveals the relationship between thinking quality and reading teaching practice and value pursuit,the relationship between thinking quality and language development is interdependent,dialectical and unified,and the value and significance of thinking quality cultivation are refined.The second is to investigate the current situation of the cultivation of English thinking quality in senior high school.Taking a high school as an example,this paper makes a research and analysis on the cultivation of practical thinking quality in English reading teaching by means of questionnaires and interviews.Through the summary,statistics and analysis of the survey results,it is found that the overall thinking quality of English students in senior high school is not optimistic,and it reveals the basic conclusion of reading teaching which restricts the cultivation of thinking quality.The third is to analyze the causes of the current situation of cultivating thinking quality in reading teaching.Based on the survey results and preliminary analysis,this paper focuses on the causal relationship between reading teaching and the development of students’ thinking quality in English subject,and provides a new perspective for English educators,to a certain extent,it helps them to clarify the teaching objectives,highlight the teaching focus,reform the teaching methods,and enhance the educational connotation.Fourthly,it studies the strategies of reading teaching to cultivate the thinking quality of senior high school students.The reading teaching needs to plan the teaching goal and the class hour arrangement as a whole,through the conformity condenses the teaching content,the elaborate design teaching activity,thoroughly implements the classroom practice,constantly strengthen students’ English subject thinking broadness,flexibility,agility,profundity,criticism and originality.This study comprehensively and profoundly explains the general strategies of reading teaching from several dimensions,such as carrying out moral cultivation,strengthening teaching level,focusing on core literacy,constructing teaching model,making use of classroom teaching and deepening test evaluation,to further ensure the rationality,scientificity and feasibility of reading teaching. |
