With the rapid development of Chinese economy and society, risks have also arisen and erupted in various social fields.Public health issues are one aspect of social risk. The COVID-19 lasted for more than a year has exposed multiple risks in the field of public health, making risk research be the focus of attention in the field of social sciences. The issue of risk communication in public health events has also become a hot topic in communication studies. As far as existing research is concerned, the literature that incorporates the COVID-19 into the perspective of risk communication research is still relatively small. Therefore, this article takes the “COVID-19 erupted in Beijing Xin Fa Di Market” with the best risk management effect in the COVID-19 as an observation case.Based on the core proposition in risk communication of “risk = harm + anger”,the COVID-19 divided into three types of risks: "high harm, low anger" "high harm, high anger" and "medium harm and anger".The content of media reports is reported in terms of report attention, emotional orientation, risk issues, and risk stakeholders. Then this thesis summarizes the features of the media's risk communication strategy during the COVID-19 in Beijing by the collected data. Finally, this article concludes the media's risk communication strategy based on the characteristics of public health emergencies. This thesis believes that in the emergent event of a public health,in addition to changing risk communication strategies based on different risk types, the media also needs to take "building a trust relationship" as the main task of risk communication to guide the implementation of risk communication strategies.
