Campus bullying is a common problem in primary and secondary schools all over the world, which has attracted wide attention of scholars from all walks of life in recent years.Previous studies have found that campus bullying seriously hinders the healthy development of individual psychology, and has a significant positive correlation with negative emotions such as depression, anxiety, rumination, low self-esteem,and even leads to the occurrence of suicidal ideation. At the same time, junior high school students are in adolescence, which is a stormy period in the growth.Their psychological development is not mature and impulsive. They are prone to overreaction after encountering negative life events. Therefore,it is valuable to study the bullying problem of junior high school students. In this study,530 junior high school students from a middle school in Xi'an were selected by simple random sampling method, and the final effective questionnaire was 500.Use the DBVS-S,PANSI,RRS-CV and SES.This paper investigates the current situation of campus bullying,rumination,self-esteem and suicidal ideation of junior high school students, and the specific relationship between the four factors is investigated, the path model between these four factors is constructed,so as to provide practical and effective reference suggestions for promoting the mental health development of junior high school students. The result are as follows:(1)Among junior high school students, verbal bullying is the most common, followed by physical bullying and social / relational bullying;(2)Campus bullying,rumination,self-esteem and suicidal ideation has the significant differences in four demographic variables: grade, gender, origin and whether to be a class leader;(3)Campus bullying,rumination,self-esteem and suicidal ideation were significantly correlated with each other;(4)Campus bullying significantly positively predicted junior high school students' suicidal ideation. The more serious the campus bullying, the stronger individual's suicidal ideation;(5)Rumination plays a mediating role between school bullying and suicidal ideation;(6)Self-esteem plays a mediating role between school bullying and suicidal ideation;(7)Rumination and self-esteem play a chain mediating effect between campus bullying and suicidal ideation. This study suggests that,on the one hand, junior high school students' bullying on campus can directly predict their suicidal ideation;on the other hand,it can indirectly predict their suicidal ideation through rumination and self-esteem.In the intervention of junior high school students' suicidal ideation,we should not only intervene campus bullying, but also pay attention to the role of rumination and self-esteem.
