| Object:To understand the current situation and characteristics of bullying on campus in middle school students,to explore the relationship between bullying on campus(including bullying,bullying,bullying-bullying three angles)and coping style,and to provide theoretical basis for the prevention and control of bullying on campus in middle school students.Methods:Taking the middle school students of three research sites established in Jiangxi Province as the subjects,the three research sites were the secondary schools affiliated to Nanchang University,Linchuan No.2 Middle School and Chongren No.2 Middle School,all of which were completed.The first,second,and first and second year of senior high school students were investigated.self-made general situation questionnaire,chinese version Olweus bullying questionnaire and coping style questionnaire were used to investigate 7500 students in the above three middle schools.SPSS 22.0 is used for data processing.Results:(1)Characteristics of bullying in secondary schoolsAmong the 7129 middle school students surveyed,the reported rate of bullying on campus in the past 1 year was 7.8%(556/7129),the reported rate of bullying was18.8%[1342/7129],and the reported rate of bullying-bullying was 5.1%(366/7129).The rate of reporting was higher among boys than among girls(all P<0.001),among junior high school students(all P<0.05);among middle school students who were often scolded by their elders or often subjected to corporal punishment by their elders(all P<0.001);among middle school students with poor academic performance,the rate was higher(all P<0.001).among them,the reported rate of bullying of the poor family economic situation was higher than that of the good family economic situationand the average(P<0.001);while the rate of bullying of the only child was higher than that of the non-only child(P<0.05).The reported rates of physical bullying,verbal bullying,relational bullying,cyberbullying were higher among boys than among girls in the bullying/bullying category(all P<0.05).and verbal bullying and verbal bullying in junior high school students-the reported rate of bullying was higher than that in senior high school students(all P<0.05).Boys reported higher rates of physical bullying-bullying,verbal bullying-bullying or cyberbullying than girls(all P<0.05).(2)Characteristics of coping styles of secondary school students This study showed that the scores of girls seeking support and venting their emotions were higher than those of boys(all P<0.001),while the scores of tolerance were lower than those of boys(P<0.001);except for seeking support,the scores of positive and negative coping factors of high school students were higher than those of junior high school students(all P<0.001);in both urban and middle school students,positive responses were more likely than in rural and non-only middle school students(all P<0.001);Middle school students who were only children scored higher than those who were not only children(P=0.010).(3)Relationship between bullying and coping styles in secondary schools Results showed that secondary school students without bullying/bullying were more likely to adopt positive coping style problem solving and reasonable explanation than those with bullying/bullying(all P<0.001);middle school students who reported bullying,bullying-bullying behavior were more likely to adopt negative coping tolerance,evasion,venting,fantasy/denial(all P<0.001).A multi-factor Logistic regression analysis of the relationship between coping style of middle school students and bullying/bullying on campus showed that taking seeking support can reduce the occurrence of bullying(OR=0.952,95%CI:0.932~0.972,P<0.001),taking problem-solving can reduce the occurrenceof bullying(OR=0.976,95%CI:0.961~0.992,P=0.003),taking reasonable explanation can reduce the occurrence of bullying-bullying behavior(OR=0.939,95%CI:0.909~0.971,P<0.001),while taking the coping style of venting emotion(OR=1.108,95%CI:1.067~1.151,P<0.001),fantasy/denial(OR=1.061,95%CI:1.028~1.094,P<0.001)can increase the occurrence of bullying,bullying,bullying-bullying behavior.Conclusion:(1)The school bullying,bullying,bullying-bullying behavior of middle school students surveyed has different characteristics,and the reported rate of bullying/bullying on campus is higher for boys than for girls,and higher for junior high school students than for high school students;(2)Girls are more likely than boys to respond positively;(3)The coping style of middle school students has certain correlation with its gender,age/grade,household registration,whether only child or not;(4)There is a significant correlation between bullying,bullying,bullyingbullying and coping style among middle school students on campus.positive coping is a protective factor for bullying/bullying on campus. |
