Research On The Temporal And Spatial Process And Impact Of Water Conservancy Construction In The Hetao Area In The Qing Dynasty

During the Ming and Qing Dynasties,a large number of people from the Shanxi and Shaanxi Provinces moved to the Hetao area,which promoted the socio-economic development of the area.Under the influence of the large number of people moving in and the development of water conservancy projects,the lifestyles of the people in Hetao area are gradually converging,and their traditional beliefs have also changed.Based on the existing research results,this paper attempts to explore the spatial and temporal distribution of water conservancy construction in the Hetao region of the Qing Dynasty and its causes,and analyzes the impact of water conservancy construction on the social economy.On a practical level,I hope that this article can provide a certain reference for the development and improvement of agricultural,social,and economic undertakings in Hetao today.In the Qing Dynasty,there were obvious spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of water conservancy development in Hetao area.In time,the scale of the early Qing Dynasty was small,but the scale of the middle and late Qing Dynasty was large.In space,there are more west than east and less south than north.The formation of spatiotemporal distribution characteristics is closely related to the differences in natural conditions and agricultural types within the Hetao area.After large-scale water conservancy development,the number of acres of irrigated fields and crop yields in the Hetao area have increased,and the variety of crops has become increasingly abundant.It has gradually changed from a food importing place to a food exporting place,freeing itself from the predicament of relying on external supply for food.With the further development of water conservancy,land transaction methods in Hetao area have changed,and the commodity economy has also developed significantly.Due to the large number of Han people moving in,the traditional folk beliefs in Hetao have gradually changed.Taking the Dragon God belief closely related to water conservancy development as an example,this article restores the spatial and temporal distribution of the Dragon King Temple in Hetao area.On this basis,it is further demonstrated that water conservancy development played an important role in the agricultural socio-economic development of Hetao in the Qing Dynasty.
