The Application Of Dunhuang Fresco Symbols In The Design Of Folding Leather Bags

Leather bags play an important role in people’s lives.Nowadays,the design of leather bags on the market tends to be younger and diversified,but they lack certain cultural factors.The symbols in the Dunhuang frescoes,as cultural treasures for thousands of years,are of great research value.The application of Dunhuang mural symbols to the design of leather bags can not only provide pictorial symbols,color symbols and cultural basis for the design of leather bags,but also protect and inherit the symbols of Dunhuang murals.This thesis uses semiotic research methods to research and apply the folding leather bags with Dunhuang fresco symbols on the basis of consulting relevant documents and field investigations of Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes.The pattern symbols,color symbols,and material symbols of Dunhuang fresco symbols are studied,and their artistic and cultural values ??are analyzed.Use the color histogram algorithm to refine the colors in the murals with the symbols that have representative meanings,and use the symbol evaluation method to refine the patterns.The characters,animals,plants and unique stories in the Dunhuang murals are refined,and the relationship between them is explored.The connection between pop art provides a basis for the application of Dunhuang fresco symbols in the design of leather bags.Folding techniques,shape change design methods,series design methods and other methods are used in the design of folded leather bags.Combining the popped Dunhuang mural symbols with the folding leather bag based on origami art,a total of 30 leather bags in four series,namely the story series,the character series,the animal series and the plant series,are designed,which proves that the Dunhuang murals will have pop characteristics.It is feasible to use symbols in folding leather bags.Applying pop-style symbols of Dunhuang murals to folding leather bags,while enriching the design of leather bags,it also protects the cultural heritage and provides a reference for the inheritance of Dunhuang murals.
