Research On Agricultural Ecological Efficiency And Influencing Factors In Guizhou Province

Since the reform and opening up,with the rapid growth of the economy,China has seen continuous improvement of its level of agricultural output and meanwhile increasingly prominent problems like the waste of resources and environmental pollution.Under the premise of ensuring the rapid development of the agricultural economy,it is a top priority for realizing the sustainable development of the current agricultural economy to balance and coordinate the development relations among resources,environment and agricultural economy.In recent years,the rapid development of agriculture in Guizhou has also produced a series of ecological and environmental problems,such as rocky desertification and deterioration of soil conditions.The resource and environmental problems brought by traditional modes of production not only threaten the safety of agricultural production,but also threaten food security,so they are not conducive to the sustainable development of the agricultural economy.Guizhou Province is a demonstration area of ecological civilization construction in China.It is necessary for the province to defend the baselines of development and ecology,improve the efficiency of resource utilization and promote the sustainable development of the agricultural economy according to its own advantages.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the regional agricultural ecological efficiency and advocate the sustainable development of the agricultural economy.For this purpose,the agricultural ecological efficiency of Guizhou Province was measured based on previous studies and the current agricultural development in Guizhou.Besides,influential factors to agricultural ecological efficiency of Guizhou were studied from macroscopic perspective and policy suggestions were proposed.This way,it expects to contribute referential ideas to sustainable agricultural development of Guizhou.The first chapter is about introductions to research backgrounds,research significance,research design and methods of the paper,from the perspectives of actual situations of and problems with agricultural development.The second chapter is about theories and literature review.Focusing on agricultural ecological efficiency,it reviewed total-factor productivity theory,theory of economic growth,theory of ecological economy and sustainable development theory.Chinese and foreign research literature on measurement and influential factors to agricultural ecological efficiency was summarized in this section.The current status quo about agricultural development in Guizhou was studied in the third chapter.It probed into the resources,environment and macroscopic basic conditions for agricultural development in Guizhou,explicated the characters of agricultural industry development,and dug into problems with agricultural development in Guizhou.The fourth chapter is the empirical test.This paper studies Guizhou Province and its nine cities/prefectures based on theory of total factor productivity,theory of economic growth and theory of sustainable development.According to the actual situation of agricultural development in Guizhou Province,a Slacks-Based Measure(SBM)model is used to estimate the agricultural ecological efficiency of nine cities/prefectures in Guizhou Province from 2009 to 2018 based on undesirable output.The reasons for the loss of agricultural ecological efficiency in Guizhou Province are further analyzed on that basis.The agricultural ecological efficiency in Guizhou Province showed an overall trend of falling before rising from 2009 to 2018.The results of redundancy analysis suggest that redundancy of resource input and redundancy of undesirable output are the main reasons for the loss of agricultural ecological efficiency.The input-output redundancy situations of agricultural ecological efficiency were greatly varied among the cities/prefectures.The fifth chapter is the analysis of influencing factors.Based on the results of the fourth chapter,combined with the literature review,the main influencing factors of agricultural ecological efficiency in Guizhou Province are further analyzed by using panel Tobit model.The results show that among the six main factors,the agricultural production capacity,the degree of agricultural marketization and the level of agricultural scalization have significant positive effects;the level of financial support for agriculture and the density of agricultural machinery have negative effects on agricultural ecological efficiency.In the last chapter,the main conclusions are given.Countermeasures are proposed from six aspects: factor input,infrastructure construction,scientific and technological service support,industrial layout,talent cultivation,and system construction based on the above research findings,the present situation of agricultural development in Guizhou Province,and the objective law of economic development.
