Children friendships include friendship relation, friendship scope, and friendship quality.Friendship relation refers to the voluntary,two-way and positive emotional connection between children, and it is a relatively stable peer relationship.Friendship relations in early childhood include: two-way friendship,one-way friendship, and non-friendship.Friendship scope or quantity refers to the number of mutually recognized friends that a child has.Friendship quality is the level of support, company or conflict between friends.Prosocial behaviors of children refer to the behaviors that are beneficial to others in children’s daily life, which usually include four aspects: sharing behaviors, cooperative behaviors, helping behaviors and comforting behaviors. This study selected friendship relation and friendship scope as research variables to further explore the relationship between friendship and prosocial behaviors of the children aged 5-6.In this study,115 children aged 5-6 were selected to determine children’s friendship relation and friendship scope by the peer-friend nomination method and the teacher-friend nomination method. The parents of 115 children were given prosocial behavior questionnaires, and the event sampling observation method was used to analyze the performance of children’s prosocial behaviors, which jointly determined the level of children’s prosocial behaviors. Finally, the collected data were analyzed by SPSS.The results of the study are as follows:1.There are group differences in friendship relations and prosocial behaviors of children;2.Children with different types of friendship relations are significantly related to their prosocial behaviors: children with friendship relations show more prosocial behaviors than those with non-friendship relations;children with two-way friendship relations show more prosocial behaviors than those with one-way friendship relations;3.Children with different numbers of friends in two-way friendship relations have different prosocial behaviors, but it is not represents that the greater the number of friends, the higher the level of development of prosocial behaviors;4.Children with two-way friendship relations have similar levels of prosocial behaviors;5.Children with strong level of prosocial behaviors are more likely to have two-way friendship relations.Based on the above research results, the following educational suggestions are drawn: 1.Educators should respect the friendship of children and provide support for the establishment of children’s friendship;2.Guide the development of children’s prosocial behaviors through friendship relations;3.Make children build and maintain friendships better by virtue of prosocial behaviors. |
