| The search for meaning in life never changes.In the context of the continuous improvement of material living standards,the problem of college students’ low meaning in life has gradually been paid attention.In order to improve the meaning in life of college students,relevant national policies and plans clearly put forward that colleges and primary and secondary schools should carry out various forms of life education and frustration education.Work is an important way for individuals to gain meaning in life.college students’ cognition,willingness and ambition to engage in a certain job in the future,as well as their ability to adjust their career planning and work responsibilities in the face of career transition,may affect their meaning in life.The former can be understood as future work self,while the latter can be understood as career adaptability.Both of them may have a positive impact on college students’ meaning in life.In addition,family is the direct environment of individual activities and communication,and family education,as the starting point of students’ educational and professional career,will undoubtedly play an important role in the future work self,career adaptability and meaning life in life of college students.Therefore,in order to investigated the status quo of college students’ meaning in life,career-specific parental behavior,future work self and career adaptability,and the correlation between these variables,this study adopts the questionnaire survey method to collect the data of 1662 college students.The study used the meaning in life as the explained variable,career-specific parental behavior,future work self,career adaptability as prediction variables to build an chain mediation model,and explored the effect and mechanism among the research variables.According to relevant data analysis results,the main conclusions are as follows:(1)College students’ meaning in life is above average level.Different gender and grade has no effect on college students’ meaning in life,but the urban household registration,no left-behind experience of college students’ meaning in life is higher than college students having stay experience and the rural household registration.At the same time,compared with the parents’ education level is low,professional type,and family economic conditions are relatively poor college students,college students with better parents’ education level,occupation type and family economic status have higher meaning in life.(2)In the dimension of college students’ career-specific parental behavior,career support is above medium level,while career interference and career loss are below medium level.In addition,the future work self of college students is slightly higher than the average,but it is not obvious.Finally,the career adaptability of college students is above average.(3)The career support dimension of career-specific parental behavior is significantly positively correlated with future work self,career adaptability and the meaning in life of college students.The dimension of career interference has a significant positive correlation with college students’ future work self and career adaptability.In addition,although career interference has a negative correlation with college students’ meaning in life,the relationship is not significant.The career loss dimension of career-specific parental behavior is significantly negatively correlated with college students’ future work self,career adaptation and life meaning.(4)The career support dimension of career-specific parental behavior can positively predict college students’ future work self,and then positively predict college students’ meaning in life,and future work self is a mediating variable.The career support can positively predict college students’ career adaptability,and then positively predict college students’ meaning in life,.Career adaptation is a mediating variable.(5)Future work self and career adaptability are significantly correlated with college students’ meaning in life,which has positive predictive effect on college students’ meaning in life.(6)Future work self and career adaptability play a chain mediating role in the influence of parental career support on college students’ meaning in life.(7)The career loss dimension of career-specific parental behavior has a significant negative impact on college students’ meaning in life,but this effect is not realized through the single mediating effect and the chain mediating effect of future work self and career adaptability.According to the research conclusions,in order to improve the meaning in life of college students,the following suggestions are put forward: Environmental perspective:(1)Based on family education,improve college students’ meaning in life;(2)To strengthen career education,strengthen college students’ perception of the meaning of work;(3)Pay attention to special groups and improve the meaning in life of rural college students.Personal perspective :(1)understand the importance of work and search for the meaning in life through multiple channels;(2)Take the initiative to try,actively participate in the practice,improve the future work self and career adaptability. |
