Secondary vocational education is an important foundation for the construction of modern vocational education system with Chinese characteristics,and plays a crucial fundamental role in the process of cultivating technical talents.With the basic role of secondary vocational education becoming more and more prominent,higher requirements are put forward for the quality of personnel training in secondary vocational education.As a positive psychological quality,career optimism has a positive impact on individual career adaptability,and future job self-clarity also has an important impact on career adaptability.The career adaptability of secondary vocational students is related to their future development,so how to effectively combine the career support of parents and teachers,stimulate the cultivation of vocational students’ career optimism and future work self-clarity,and promote the development of career adaptability has become an important issue to promote the comprehensive development of secondary vocational students.Based on the theory of career construction,this study explores the influence of parents’ and teachers’ career support on the career adaptability of secondary vocational students,and the role of career optimism and future job self-definition in their relationship.A questionnaire survey was conducted among 1964 secondary vocational students.The results show that:(1)Career support of teachers and parents can positively predict career optimism,future job self-definition and career adaptability of secondary vocational students;career optimism can positively predict future job self-definition and career adaptability;future job self-definition can positively predict career adaptability;(2)Career optimism partially mediates the relationship between parents’ career support,teachers’ career support and career adaptation,while future job self-definition partially mediates the relationship between parents’ career support,teachers’ career support and career adaptation;(3)Career optimism and future job self-clarity play a chain mediating role in parents’ career support,teachers’ career support and career adaptation.Combined with the research conclusion and the open questionnaire survey results,this study puts forward the following suggestions from the perspectives of teachers,parents and individuals: Parents should pay attention to their children’s career development and strengthen career education in daily education.As for teachers,they should integrate career education into subject teaching,pay attention to individual differences,and provide targeted support.From the individual point of view,it is suggested that the secondary vocational students should take the initiative to participate in a variety of practical activities,in practice to constantly enhance their future work self clarity,and to maintain an optimistic attitude towards their career future.
