In order to improve the quality of the labor force and relieve the employment pressure, the upper limit of the number of students recruited by colleges and universities in China has been continuously raised, but this behavior has also led to the explosive growth of the number of college graduates, and the employment pressure of graduates is increasing. In addition, the country’s industrial structure transformation and upgrading in recent years, the ability requirements and quantity of talents in various industries have also changed, and the career development path of college students is full of uncertainty.Has a number of research results confirmed that parents in children’s growth and employment plays a huge role on the road, proven parents affect their children’s employment factors and mechanism, corresponding to prepare in advance to help college students to improve the understanding of professional and adaptability, help college students better cope with job after graduation, career setbacks in the process of career development.Career-specific parental behaviors is the embodiment of the parenting style in the process of children’s career development, which can be divided into three types:parental career support, interference and absence.Parental career support means that parents actively encourage and help their children explore various possibilities of career development and provide necessary help in time;Parental career intervention refers to parents limiting the direction and choice of their children’s career development;Parental absence refers to parents’ unwillingness or inability to participate in their children’s career development. In 2012,Savickas defined career adaptability as the necessary psychological resources for individuals to deal with difficulties in the process of career transition, which can help individuals achieve better career development.Previous studies on the influence of parents on children’s career adaptability mainly focus on the parenting style, and pay less attention to how career-specific parental behaviors affect children’s career adaptability from the professional perspective. In particular, the role mechanism of career decision-making self-efficacy and career exploration behavior in it remains to be further clarified.Secondly, there is no research to explain the path and effectiveness of parents’ influence on their children from the perspective of social cognition theory. Therefore, this study adopts questionnaire survey data analysis technology and statistical analysis software SPSS.22.0 and MPLUS 7.0.Firstly,it explores the status quo of career-specific parental behaviors and career adaptability,as well as their differences in different demographic variables.Secondly,we explore the relationship and influence mechanism between supportive, interventionist and absent careerspecific parental behaviors and career decision-making self-efficacy,career exploration behavior and career adaptability. In general, the following results and conclusions are drawn in this study through the status analysis and structural equation model test of 1254 sample data of college students:(1)The three types of career-specific parental behaviors(support, intervention, absence)and undergraduates’ career adaptability have partial differences in demographic variables such as gender, grade, student origin, whether they have received counseling lectures, whether they have part-time internship experience, father’s education level, mother’s education level,etc.(2)In terms of career-specific parental behaviors, parents provide more career support for their children than parents’ career interference and absence behaviors; In terms of career adaptability, college students’ career adaptability as a whole is above average.(3)Career decision-making self-efficacy and career exploration behavior play a mediating role in the relationship between parental career support and undergraduates’ career adaptation;Parental career support can exert a direct influence on career adaptability, and can also exert an influence on undergraduates’ career adaptability through career decision-making self-efficacy and career exploration behavior respectively.(4)Career decision-making self-efficacy and career exploration behavior play a chain-mediated role between parental career support and undergraduates’ career adaptation.(5)Career exploration behavior plays a completely mediating role between parents’ career intervention and college students’ career adaptation.
