Rejection sensitivity refers to an individual’s tendency to anxiously expect rejection from others in interpersonal communication,to be easily perceptible to rejection signals, and to overreact.Individuals with high rejection sensitivity cannot be rejected due to normal interpersonal needs.Satisfaction,it is prone to emotional distress, social anxiety, interpersonal avoidance, and even indulging in the online world to find remedies or substitutes for problematic Internet use.Previous studies have confirmed that denial sensitivity positively predicts problematic internet use,but no study has investigated the improvement of problematic internet usage by intervening individuals with denial sensitivity. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between rejection sensitivity and problematic Internet use, design a group intervention program to reduce college students’ rejection sensitivity, and explore the impact on problematic Internet use. This study consists of the following two phases:The first stage is a questionnaire survey: 367 college students from S universities in Qinghai Province were selected as subjects, and 334 valid data were retained after filling out the "College Student Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire" and "Davis Online Cognitive Scale".SPSS 23.0 was used to analyze the differences between rejection sensitivity and problematic internet usage in demographic variables, and the relationship between rejection sensitivity and problematic internet usage. The second stage is group intervention: According to the results of the questionnaire in the first stage,40 subjects with high scores in two questionnaires and willing to participate in group intervention were selected and randomly divided into experimental group and control group. The experimental group underwent group intervention for 6 weeks. The control group received no intervention, and a post-test was conducted after the intervention to test the effect of the intervention.Research result:1.There is no significant difference in the rejection sensitivity of college students in terms of gender, whether they are only children, type of household registration, and whether they serve as cadres.2.There are no significant differences in the use of problematic internet among college students in terms of gender, whether they are only children, type of household registration, whether they are cadres or not,and grades.3.There is a significant positive correlation between rejection sensitivity and problematic internet use.Rejection sensitivity was significantly positively correlated with problematic internet use and social comfort, loneliness and depression, weakened impulse control, and distraction.Problematic internet use was significantly positively correlated with rejection sensitivity and rejection anxiety.4.The group intervention program formulated can significantly reduce the rejection sensitivity level of the experimental group, and the problem Internet use behavior of the experimental group is improved.
