| With the development of science and technology, smart phones have gradually become an indispensable part of people’s life.As a group of young people, college students are fond of new things and are attracted by the changing functions of mobile phones. However, the excessive use of mobile phones is likely to lead to addictive behavior, causing damage to the physical and mental health of college students. At present, there are still few researches on mobile phone addiction, and its formation mechanism and action path are not clear. However, some studies have shown that rejection sensitivity has an important effect on college students’ pathological use of the Internet, and Internet addiction has a similar psychological mechanism to mobile phone addiction. Therefore, rejection sensitivity may be an important factor affecting college students’ mobile phone addiction, but there is no relevant research at present,so it is worth exploring. At the same time, individuals with low self-esteem and high social anxiety had a higher risk of phone addiction, and self-esteem could indirectly influence social anxiety through the mediating effect of rejection sensitivity.Therefore,self-esteem and social anxiety may be mediating variables between them, playing a role in the pathway of rejection sensitivity to mobile phone addiction. This study attempted to investigate the predictive effects of rejection sensitivity on mobile phone addiction and the mediating or moderating effects of self-esteem and social anxiety. The research methods are questionnaire survey method and data analysis method.By issuing questionnaires to college students, the data are collected and analyzed, then draw research conclusions. In this study,242 subjects were selected from full-time undergraduate universities in wuhan,xi ’an and other places.Mobile phone addiction tendency scale,self-esteem scale, rejection sensitivity questionnaire of college students and social anxiety scale were used to measure. The results show that:The results show that:(1)the detection rate of mobile phone addiction among college students is 33.5%,indicating that the mobile phone addiction of college students is at a moderately low level.(2)differences in demographic variables of mobile phone addiction, rejection sensitivity,self-esteem and social anxiety among college students:First,in the variable of mobile phone addiction, the only child scored higher than the non-only child, and the difference was significant.Second,in terms of self-esteem,the self-esteem level of students majoring in liberal arts is higher than that of students majoring in science and engineering significantly, and the self-esteem level of only children is significantly higher than that of non-only children.Third, there was no significant difference between the five demographic variables in rejection sensitivity and social anxiety.(3)mobile phone addiction was negatively correlated with self-esteem,and positively correlated with rejection sensitivity and social anxiety.Self-esteem was negatively correlated with rejection sensitivity and social anxiety.Rejection sensitivity was positively correlated with social anxiety.(4)rejection sensitivity can significantly predict both mobile phone addiction and social anxiety in a positive way,and influence mobile phone addiction through social anxiety, which plays an intermediary role between rejection sensitivity and mobile phone addiction. The mediating effect of rejection sensitivity on the prediction of social anxiety was significantly different at different self-esteem levels. For individuals with high self-esteem,rejection sensitivity had a positive effect on the prediction of social anxiety. |
