This study systematically explores the relationship model of self-control,internet game addiction,game using control,and parental control.Research one,compile a game using control questionnaire.On the basis of interviews and related literatures,a preliminary questionnaire of 3 dimensions with 21 items was prepared.A total of 274 valid questionnaires were collected for the prediction questionnaire.A retest questionnaire was formed after project analysis and exploratory factor analysis.A total of 274 valid questionnaires were collected.After the reliability and validity test,the game using control questionnaire was finally determined,with a total of 16 items in 3 dimensions.Research two,explore the role of game using control and parental control between self-control and internet game addiction.547 valid questionnaires was collected with the self-control scale,the internet game addiction questionnaire,the game using control questionnaire,and the parental control scale,to explore the overall characteristics of junior middle school students’ game using control;to explore the differences of junior middle school students’ game using control in demographic variables;to explore the mediating role of game using control and the moderating role of parental control between self-control and internet game addiction.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The game using control questionnaire is composed of three dimensions,game control,conflict coordination,and temptation resistance,with a total of 16 items,which have been tested to have good reliability and validity,and can be used as an effective tool for evaluating game using control for junior middle school students;(2)Junior middle school students’ game using control is at the lower-middle level;in all dimensions,the highest average score for the project is the temperance game,followed by resisting temptation,and finally coordinating conflict.(3)There are gender differences in game using control with all dimensions and total scores.Boys have a significantly higher degree of game using control than girls.Junior middle school students of different grades only have significant differences in the dimension of coordination conflict.The ability of second-year students to coordinate conflicts is significantly higher than that of third-year students,and the ability of third-year students to coordinate conflicts is significantly higher than that of first-year students.Regarding whether to be an only child,there are a significant differences in modesty games,coordination conflicts and in total scores.There is significant marginal difference in resisting temptation.The only-child junior middle school students have a significantly higher degree of control over game use than non-only-child junior middle school students.(4)The self-control ability of junior high school students can significantly negatively predict the level of online game addiction.Game using control can play an intermediary role between self-control and internet game addiction.Self-control can not only directly affect internet game addiction,but also indirectly affect internet game addiction through game using control;parental control can play a moderating role in self-control Control and internet game addiction,and parental control can strengthen the negative predictive effect of self-control on internet game addiction.
