From the current point of view, the mechanism of self-injury may involve physiological, psychological and environmental factors, and there may be interaction between different factors.Among them, many studies support the correlation between depression and self injury. In addition,as one of the important ways to realize the function of family education,parent-child communication has a certain impact on the development of teenagers.Previous studies mainly focus on horizontal studies, which are difficult to reveal the dynamic process of the impact of depression on self injury, and the impact and degree of depression on self injury need more evidence to explain.Based on this, this study adopts a longitudinal study and selects depression as the influencing factor of adolescent self injury to investigate the relationship between adolescent depression and self injurious behavior, and to explore the moderating role of parent-child communication between them,so as to provide some guidance for the intervention of adolescent self injurious behavior. In this study,1134 junior high school students from seven middle schools in Shaoshan City of Hunan Province and Huaihua No.3 middle school were selected by cluster sampling method.Adolescent Self-injury Scale,CES-D and Parent-child Communication Scale were used. The questionnaire was conducted three times in a year. The questionnaire is administered at a one-year interval, with a total of three tests. The data were analyzed by Repetitive Measure Analysis Of Variance(ANOVA)、cross-lagged regression analysis and moderation effect test. The results of this study are as follows:(1)In the three Surveying, the main effect of adolescent self-injury level over time significantly. The main manifestation is that the self-injury in the second and third years was significantly higher than in the first year. The level of self-injury of adolescents showed an overall upward trend, but the difference between the second and third grades was not significant.(2)At the same time point, there are significant correlations among adolescents’ self-injury,parent-child communication dimensions, and depression.Among them,father-child communication/mother-child communication has a significant negative correlation with depression and self-injury,and depression has a significant positive correlation with self-injury.(3)In the cross-lagged regression analysis, depression can positively predict self-injury over a period of time.(4)The various dimensions of parent-child communication have immediate and delayed adjustments to the relationship between depression and self-injury,and under low father-child communication/mother-child communication, depression has a greater predictive effect on self-injury.Conclusion: The level of self-injury of adolescents shows an overall upward trend. There is a significant positive correlation between depression and self-injury,and depression can positively predict self-injury within a period of time. The various dimensions of parent-child communication have immediate and delayed adjustments to the relationship between depression and self-injury.
