Adolescents are in a special period.Due to pressure from schools, families and society, adolescents’ emotions tend to fluctuate. And it affects their normal learning and life.At present, depression has a high incidence in adolescents, which has a negative impact on adolescents’ mental health. Moreover, attachment theory believes that the safe parent-child attachment relationship between children and parents can predict the occurrence of depressive symptoms in adolescents. However, the current mechanism of parent-child attachment affecting adolescent depression is not well understood. Therefore, based on the theory of attachment, this study explores the effects of parent-child attachment on adolescent depression and its mechanism.Using the Youth Attachment Questionnaire, the Teacher-Student Attachment Scale, the Adolescent Mental Resilience Scale, and the Adolescent Depression Scale,547 junior high school students from three full-time secondary schools were surveyed. The results showed that:(1)There is a significant correlation between maternal and child attachment,father-and-child attachment,teacher-student attachment, individual resilience, and depression.Mother-child attachment and father-child attachment have a significant negative predictive effect on depression.(2)Teacher-student attachment and individual resilience play a partial intermediary role in the relationship between mother-child attachment and depression.Specifically,mother-child attachment affects depression through two paths: one is the individual mediating effect of individual resilience;the other is the chain mediating effect of teacher-student attachment → individual resilience.(3)Teacher-student attachment and individual resilience play a full intermediary role in the relationship between father-child attachment and depression.Specifically,father-child attachment affects depression through three paths: one is the separate intermediary role of teacher-student attachment;the second is the individual mediating effect of individual resilience;the third is the chain-mediated role of teacher-student attachment→personal resilience. This study reveals the relationship between parent-child attachment,teacher-student attachment, individual resilience and depression, and its mechanism, based on the previous studies of the relationship between parent-child attachment and adolescent depression. To combine various factors affecting adolescent depression,it provides a theoretical basis for the social work practice of preventing or intervening depression in the family, school and individual.
