The main significance of aesthetic education for young children is to mobilise their multiple senses to perceive life in its entirety and to exercise their comprehensive abilities in a subtle way to achieve all-round development.As the most convenient vehicle for implementing aesthetic education,music should be one of the main ways of implementing aesthetic education in pre-school education.In addition,following the Ministry of Education’s’ double reduction’ policy,aesthetic education has been included as one of the key areas for attention.Therefore,this study investigates how the music activities in kindergartens can help children to discover,feel and create beauty through the perspective of aesthetic education,and it also hopes to provide some reference for kindergarten teachers to better implement aesthetic education in their future music activities and promote children’s emotional development.Based on Chen Hechen’s "living education" theory,this study used observation,questionnaires and interviews to investigate the current situation in four kindergartens in G.It was found that there were some shortcomings in the music activities organised by teachers from the perspective of aesthetic education.Due to the teachers’ lack of personal teaching quality and one-sided understanding of aesthetic education,the teachers neglected the aesthetic education objectives when designing the teaching objectives;the content of the music activities chosen by the teachers failed to explore the aesthetic education elements;and there was a lack of activity methods designed for aesthetic education;the implementation process also lacked aesthetic education links;and the evaluation of the activities neglected the aesthetic education indicators.The findings suggest that most kindergartens do not attach enough importance to aesthetic education in their music activities,and that the development of aesthetic education through music activities is not objective.This study explores the current situation of kindergarten music activities from the perspective of aesthetic education in order to raise teachers’ awareness of aesthetic education,to enable them to actively explore the aesthetic elements in music activities,and to summarise their experiences and provide guidance and suggestions for teachers,so that aesthetic education can be integrated throughout the whole process of music teaching activities and the aesthetic function of music activities can be maximised.
