| Procrastination can be divided into active procrastination and passive procrastination.Active procrastination is a kind of positive procrastination,in which individuals like to efficiently complete tasks under pressure,while passive procrastination,also known as general procrastination,is a kind of negative behavior in the traditional sense.Procrastination is a common behavior among college students.Passive procrastination will bring people negative effects such as self-blame,guilt,anxiety,depression and pressure,and often lose the best opportunity to complete something,affecting achievements and physical and mental health.Therefore,exploring the occurrence and influencing factors of procrastination and further research on feasible ways to change procrastination have very important scientific value and practical significance.This research is mainly to study the relationship between state anxiety,trait anxiety,mental wandering and active procrastination and general procrastination,explores the connotation difference of the two types of procrastination and provides empirical evidence for psychological intervention of procrastination and individual self-regulation of procrastination.In the first study,25 college students were randomly selected through the interview method to understand the status quo of procrastination behavior and the situation of individuals changing their procrastination behavior.In the second study,516 students aged 18-27 from seven full-time colleges and universities were selected as subjects.The mediating relationship between state anxiety,trait anxiety,general procrastination and active procrastination was investigated by using the State Trait Anxiety Inventory,Aitken General Procrastination Inventory,Active Procrastination Inventory and Mind Wavering Frequency Inventory.In the third study,7Psychologists were selected for in-depth interviews to understand the intervention techniques for procrastination.The following conclusions are drawn:(1)The main reason for college students’ procrastination behavior is that the difficulty of the task is beyond the scope of the individual’s ability;Negative emotions such as anxiety and irritability on procrastination behavior;It is difficult to keep focus on the current learning task,and it is easy to be distracted;Willing to change,but not confident;"Set a deadline for yourself " is an effective way to reduce procrastination.(2)The state anxiety and general procrastination of college female students were higher than those of male students,while the degree of active procrastination of male students was higher than that of female students.There were significant differences in state anxiety,trait anxiety,general procrastination and active procrastination among different grades,while there was no significant difference in mind wandering frequency.The scores of state anxiety and trait anxiety in literature and art students are higher.(3)Both state anxiety and trait anxiety can positively predict general procrastination and negatively predict active procrastination together with mind wandering.(4)The increase of state anxiety increased general procrastination and reduced active procrastination by increasing the frequency of mind wandering;The increase of trait anxiety can directly increase the level of general procrastination and reduce the level of active procrastination,and can also through increase the frequency of mind wandering to increase the level of general procrastination and reduce the level of active procrastination.(5)If psychology clinic visitors want to explore the deep causes of their procrastination behavior,they can choose psychodynamic therapy;If you only focus on the change of procrastination behavior regardless of the cause,you can choose solution-focused brief therapy,narrative therapy,and cognitive behavior treatment. |
