Children’s depression and cognitive development have always been the focus of social, family and social work.Studies have found that childhood adversity is significantly associated with depression and cognitive ability, and compared with ordinary children, adversity children are more prone to physical and mental health problems. There have been many studies on the effects of childhood adversity on depression and cognitive ability at home and abroad, but there are few studies on the mechanism between them.Foreign researcher Mc Laughlin(2016)proposed a trans diagnostic model when exploring the mechanism of the impact of childhood adversity on children’s development, which takes emotional processing and executive function as the mechanism of the impact of childhood adversity on children’s development, and there are relevant empirical studies to demonstrate and explain. This model can help to explain how childhood adversity affects children’s development and provide theoretical direction for practical intervention of children in adversity, but there is a lack of empirical research based on Chinese children. This study is based on the theoretical model proposed by foreign scholars, using the China family panel studies,CFPS)in 2012 and 2016,taking children aged10-15 as the research object,in order to explore the effects of threatening adversity and deprivation adversity on children’s depression and cognitive ability,we hope to verify the research hypotheses put forward by foreign scholars, analyze and discuss them in detail. The results of longitudinal study showed that:(1)threatening adversity(parent-child conflict)had a significant positive predictive effect on children’s depression, that is,the more parent conflict, the higher the level of children’s depression.Threatening adversity(parent-child conflict)had no significant predictive effect on children’s depression.(2)Deprivation adversity(father accompany time, mother accompany time, family per capita annual income)has no significant predictive effect on children’s depression.(3)The threat stress(parent-child conflict,parent-child conflict)had no significant influence on children’s short memory, long memory and mathematics level.(4)Deprivation adversity can significantly predict children’s cognitive ability. In terms of short memory, mother’s company time has a significant positive predictive effect on children’s short memory, that is,the longer the mother’s company time is,the higher the children’s short memory level is.In the aspect of long memory, the longer the father’s company time, the lower the level of long memory; The longer the mother’s accompany time, the higher the children’s long memory level. In the aspect of mathematics level, the family per capita annual income has a significant positive prediction on children’s mathematics level, that is,the higher the family per capita annual income is,the higher the children’s mathematics level is.In conclusion, the results of this study are consistent with Mc Laughlin(2016)theoretical hypothesis, which proves that the threat of adversity rather than deprivation of adversity has a predictive effect on children’s depression;Deprivation of adversity rather than threatening adversity has a predictive effect on children’s cognitive ability. Finally, the paper puts forward some suggestions from the perspective of social work, and discusses them from the intervention level of family, community and school respectively, hoping to create a good and friendly living environment and learning environment for children, and work hard to protect the children’s growth environment and make them healthy and healthy.
