Middle school students are at a transition period from naive to mature.In this period,their mind have many significant and contradictory features.Therefore,middle school students are more likely to have behavior problems.However,students’ life,study,development and interpersonal communication are all deeply influenced by behavior problems.So,students’ behavior problems are concerned by their parents,school,society and psychological associates all the time.In the view of ecosystem theory,the interaction between man and environment should be considered in reality while studying individual’s psychology and behavior.As an important environment for middle school students to live a life and study,family atmosphere and parent-child mode are two significant external factors that impact students’ mind and behavior.In this paper,the questionnaire investigation was carried in 719 middle school students of Beijing,Anhui,Henan and Fujian to research their psychological abuse and neglect experience,coping style,core self-evaluation and behavior problems.From the Development Ecology aspect,using multi-layered linear analysis to further explore the influences of students’ psychological abuse and neglect experience,coping style,core self-evaluation on their behavior problems.Eventually we reached the following conclusions:(1)The experiences of psychological abuse and neglect of middle school students are not significantly different in grade and one-child a family or not,but significantly different in gender;coping style differs not significantly in gender and one-child a family or not,but emotion-focused coping style differs significantly in grade;the difference of the core selfevaluation is not significant in one-child a family or not,but significant in gender and grade;problem behavior is not significantly different in gender and one-child a family or not,while the externalizing problem behavior is significantly different in grade.(2)Middle school students’ psychological abuse and neglect shows significant positive correlation with problem behavior and emotion-focused coping style,and has a significant negative correlation with core self-evaluation;question-focused coping style shows significant negative correlation with problem behavior;core self-evaluation shows significant negative correlation with emotion-focused coping style and problem behavior;emotion-focused coping style shows significant positive correlation with problem behavior.(3)Middle school students’ psychological abuse and neglect and emotion-focused coping style can positively predict their behavior problems;question-focused coping style and core self-evaluation can negatively predict behavior problems.(4)Middle school students’ emotion-focused coping style and core self-evaluation separately performs the mediation functions between psychological abuse and neglect and behavior problems;emotion-focused coping style and core self-evaluation perform the chain mediation functions between psychological abuse and neglect and behavior problems.The results of this study reveal the relationship between psychological abuse and neglect and problem behavior of middle school students,which provides an empirical basis for further research in this field,and provides valuable reference and inspiration for helping middle school students to prevent the problem behaviors. |
