KAATSU training has been widely used in sports rehabilitation and fitness and bodybuilding. It is a training method that uses KAATSU belts to cause muscle ischaemia, thereby stimulating muscle growth and strength with small exercise intensity. However, there are currently more studies on Taekwondo compression training. This study conducted a 6-week compression training for Taekwondo athletes in the Competitive Sports School of Shanghai Sport University, and analyzed the impact of KAATSU training on the strength of Taekwondo athletes through various strength performances. Can it be used as an auxiliary training method for Taekwondo athletes?Method: Select 20 professional Taekwondo athletes with more than 3years of training experience, and randomly divide them into the KAATSU group and the traditional group by drawing lots. The experimental intervention is 6 weeks. The strength exercises of the KAATSU group and the traditional group are the same as squats, dead lifts and lunges, but the load is different. The pressure group is 25%-35% 1RMincremental load, the traditional group is 70%-80% 1RM incremental load.Collect the left and right leg circumferences, squat jump and static squat jump before and after the experiment,40 cm jump depth of response strength index, maximum strength squat index,30-meter running performance, knee joint peak torque, total knee joint work and fatigue. An independent sample T test was used to analyze the before and after differences between the KAATSU group and the control group.Use paired sample T test, effect size, and rate of change to analyze the magnitude of change before and after the two groups.Results:(1)The thigh circumferences of the two groups of athletes improved, but the KAATSU training group(change rate = 0.76% ± 0.63%)was higher than the traditional group(change rate = 0.29% ± 1.19%);(2)Both the squat jump and static squat jump performance of the two groups of athletes improved, but the squat jump of the KAATSU group(change rate = 6.89% ± 11.29%,effect size = 0.21)was higher than that of the traditional group(Rate of change=6.92%±12.81%,effect size=0.29).but the static squat jump(change rate=11.42%±13.53%,effect size=0.41)of the KAATSU group was higher than the traditional group(change rate=7.17%±12.80%,effect size=0.27);(3)The reaction power of the two groups was significantly improved. The pressure reaction power index(change rate = 26.76% ± 23.97%,effect size = 0.71)was compared with the traditional group(Rate of change=11.94%±24.48%,effect size=0.46);(4)The maximum strength squat 1RM performance of the two groups was significantly improved, while the KAATSU group(change rate=36.65%±25.84%,effect size=0.95)was compared with the traditional training group(Change rate=18.86%±12.87%,effect size=0.61),However,the 30-meter performances of the two groups of athletes did not improve significantly;(5)The peak torque of the 180°/S knee joint of the two groups of athletes was significantly improved. The peak torque of the left knee extensor and right knee flexor in the KAATSU group(Rate of change=8.91%±7.59%,12.48%±19.66%,effect size=0.38,0.39),The peak torque of the left knee flexor and right knee extensor in the traditional group(change rate = 14.19% ± 20.66%,11.86% ± 16.45%,effect size =0.34,0.51)is higher than that of the KAATSU group;(6)The effects of the two groups of athletes on the total work of the knee joint are not obvious. Both the KAATSU group and the traditional group have improved,As for the left knee extensor, left knee extensor, right knee extensor and right knee flexor, the fatigue index of the KAATSU group((Rate of change = 15.32% ± 24.75%,effect size = 0.62、 Change rate =22.37% ± 25.71%,effect size = 1.04、 Change rate=9.36%±21.73%,effect size=0.46、Change rate=3.27%±20.49%,effect size=0.13)was higher than that of the traditional group((Rate of change = 2.87% ± 15.04%,effect size= 0.10 、 Change rate = 3.38% ± 13.41%,effect size = 0.11 、 Change rate=5.53%±17.72%,effect size=0.24、Change rate=2.12%±16.31%,effect size=0.11).Conclusion:(1)In the training plan model of this study, there is no significant difference between the KAATSU training and the traditional group before and after the experiment, but the KAATSU training group can highlight certain advantages, that is,low-intensity KAATSU training can also improve muscle strength.(2)KAATSU training and traditional heavy resistance training have the same effect in training the athletes’ maximum strength and peak knee torque. The former is used as an auxiliary training method for the explosive force of the lower limbs of the Taekwondo event. In addition,the6-week KAATSU training will Athletes’ lower limb circumference, static squat jump, lower limb reaction strength, and muscle endurance improvement produce positive effects and are better than traditional heavy-weight resistance training.
